Cody's POV

I was leaning against a tree when I heard a twig snap. I whipped around and got into fighting stance but then I realized it was only Skye.

"Hey."

"Sup. Now you have 4 minutes to explain whatever it is you want to and then I gotta go. Mmkay?" She asked, irritated.

"Ok well I'm just gonna come out with it. I-I..." I stuttered.

"Tick tock." She said.

"I love you okay? Can you please forgive me for everything? I can't imagine life without you and the only reason I ever rejected you is because, well," I said trailing off.

"Three minutes and explain everything and fast." She snapped.

I explained to her why I regected her in the first place and how I want, no, need her back.

"Like I believe that? C'mon lets be real. Yeah it seems realistic but still I've read your play scripts and stories and they seem realistic and I've witnessed your lies. I know you. And I sure don't believe that scheme you most likely just made off the top of your head." She scoffed. To be completely honest, I was ticked off that she would even accuse me of that.

"Really Skye? You actually think that I could lie to you of all people?" I shouted.

"Yes! You've done it before!" She yelled.

"You know what? Forget it! You aren't worth not sleeping at night. I don't even know why I bothered trying to get you to forgive me! You are just as dense and mentally weak as when you left! Why couldn't the moon goddess pair me up with someone like that girl Emily from the pack? Why'd she have to pick a freaking lunatic? Hell, a rogue would've been better than you, Skye, at this point!" I said, fury overtaking my mind instead of truth or logic.

"How could you? I knew you didn't change. You're still the heartless Cody I left a year ago." Her eyes were lined with tears threatening to spill.

"But you know what? I, Skyelen Hamilton, regect you Cody Rodgers, as my mate!" She said, tears building up but still not falling.

"Skye, I-Im so" I started to say but she cut me off.

"Save it Cody. See you never." She mumbled them shifted and ran away. I was frozen. Numb. I fell to my knees and full on bawled.

One chance with my mate, my happiness, my world, and I blew it.

Skye's POV

"You know what? I, Skyelen Hamilton, regect you, Cody Rodgers, as my mate!" I shouted, tear pricking my eyes but I refused to let them fall.

"Skye, I-I'm so" he started but I cut him off.

"Save it Cody. See you never." Was all I said before turning away, shifting, and running as fast as I can to my house. Luckily I don't live in the pack house anymore. And Cody has no idea where I live and I masked my scent so he wouldn't find me.

By the time I was on my porch I felt like I was gonna collapse. I ran inside and started crying like I've never cried before on my couch in the living room.

"Sweetie, oh my gosh are you alright?" My mom asked genuinely worried.

I explained to her what happened in between sobs. Somewhere along the line Ash and Cam found their ways to either one of my sides and were hugging me. My dad even joined in on our lovely little weep party. Except he was pacing mumbling out ways to brutally kill Cody. And let me just say I wouldn't mind actually making these ideas reality. Right now I could care less if that son of a choice word dies.

"I'm so sorry this had to happen to you Skye. Nobody should be put through that, especially so brutally." Cam cooed.

"Thanks." I sniffed "I'm pretty tired now so I'm gonna get some sleep. That is, if I can." I said glumly and walked to my room. Ash and Cam followed because Cam and I were originally having a sleepover and Ash is just being his usual overprotective brother self.

I climbed in bed and yawned. I'm dead tired. I felt a dip in the bed beside me and I realized that Ashton was sitting on my bed. He moved my hair from my face and poked my nose. I smiled because it reminded me of when we were little and played a game where if you poked their nose first you win they lose. He smiled back and have me a hug.

"I love you sis." He said.

"I love you to, annoying bro." We both let out small laughs and went back to being serious.

He hugged me again and left to his room.

"Skye, you don't need that douche in your life to do anything. Lets show him what he's missing okay?" She stated.

"Okay but I don't even want him anymore. He broke me twice and that's two times to many. I understand that life is about being broken and dragged down in unhappiness just as it is being happy and feeling like the world is in your side, but he's my, now ex, mate. He was supposed to make me feel that amazing feeling you get in your heart when you really love someone. He just gave me despair, pain, and suffering." I lifted up my pant leg and revealed about a inch long scar. "I remember this is from when we were just in first grade and first met. He accidentally pushed me into a bush and I got cut by a sharp rock. We were best friends after that, don't ask me why, and I always wanted him as a mate. Now that I know he is, I regret ever wishing that. He is cruel and builds your heart up just to break it down again. I don't trust him. I never will." I said. When I finished a single tear ran down my cheek. Cam hugged me tightly and we said goodnight to each other before she got into her sleeping bag on a blow up mattress next to my bed.

I closed my eyes and quickly fell into a black dreamless sleep.
