Epilogue

It's been three years since the London trip. Not too much has happened if I'm being completely honest. Everyone's still their usual selves, no broken up relationships though a new one's blossomed for Niall. He met a girl, Ella, a few months back.

As for Harry and I, things have been going great. We moved in together last year and it's been amazing. With some expected bumps in the road, like every normal couple, but we've never been closer. As for right now, though, I have to admit he's been pretty shady. Ever since two weeks ago he's been going out more recently and not opening up as much... even if I ask what he's done that day, I know he's lies about it. I know better than to assume he's cheating but a girl can only hope.

"Where are you going now?" I call from the kitchen when I hear him zipping up his jacket.

"Oh just- just out!" He calls back. I hear the door open and quickly run out of the kitchen to meet him, stopping the door with my foot before it closes. Harry looks at me guiltily.

"Can you please just tell me where you're going?" I plead, "For once." He steps into the doorway and put a hand on both of my arms.

"I uh... I can't say," he replies sheepishly.

"You can't say? Okay well you have fun going off to wherever you're going and I'll just wait here and accept it like you expect me to do every time you wonder off. Have fun." I give him a slight push out of the doorway and slam the door before he has a chance to respond. Frustrated, I turn to the first person I know can help: Jenna. Grabbing my phone, I plop onto the couch and blow out an exasperated breath before dialling her number.

"Hello darling," she answers in a chirpy tone.

"Hi... why so happy?" I ask her with a laugh.

"Oh uh... just- just some stuff that's about to go on that I'm excited for is all," she tells me. I'm confused but decide to brush it off.

"Okay then," I laugh. "Well I got some things I wanna take off my chest and you're always one to listen. Mind coming over?"

"Of cour- actually why don't you come over here? I'm not in the mood to drive," she says with a nervous laugh.

"See you soon then," I reply. I hang up and sit for a second. Everyone's acting so god damn weird. When I spoke to Louis and Lizzy the other day, they were acting off. Rachel and Zayn have been keeping to themselves for a couple weeks, like Harry, and Niall's just been telling me he's had something come up and can't talk or hangout. I mean I know they have their own lives but it was just out of the ordinary.

"So what's going on?" Jenna asks me after I've taken a seat on her barstool.

"Has Liam ever gone a couple weeks randomly shutting you out? And you dig and dig and poke and pry to find out what you could have done to make that happen and he just acts like he's been totally normal the whole time?"

Jenna gives a small laugh and says, "I have a feeling you aren't actually asking me, but telling me the situation with you and Harry?" I nod and she smirks. "I see. Well I'll tell you some things I do that'll make Liam tell me anything."

We sit and talk for an hour or two. We're in the middle of discussing summer plans this year when Jenna suddenly gasps. "Is that really the time?" She asks in panic. I raise an eyebrow and nod.

"It's only 5:15..." I tell her.

"Shit!" She says loudly. "Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit! I'm late!" I couldn't help but laugh.

"Late for what?"

"That doesn't matter, here let's drive you home," she ushers, pushing me out the door and into the driver's seat of my car.

"Jenna, for God's sake what the hell's going on?" I ask her while backing up out of her driveway.

"That doesn't matter right now, just drive!" Jenna replies frantically.

**

Ten minutes later we're parked in my driveway. "Not really sure how you're planning to get to wherever you're going if you don't have your car, Jen," I say as I turn off the ignition. She gives a nervous laugh.

"Yeah," she replies. "Here I'll walk you inside."

"I'm perfectly capable-"

"Don't be silly! Come, come," she interrupts before I could finish. Something was definitely up, I had no doubt about it. We walk into the house and I gasp when I see the whole group standing there. Before I can ask what the hell's going on, they all move aside to reveal Harry standing behind them.

"What is going on h-" before I  can finish my sentence, he gets down on his right knee. I gasp again, this time tears filling my eyes. "Oh my God," I whisper into my hands that are now cupped over my mouth.

"Tabitha, from the first time we'd talked I knew that you weren't like any other girl I've met. Despite the fact we were best friends and nothing more for quite a long time, I've always cared about you. I've loved for a while and even though it's taken time and some very stupid mistakes to figure it out, I know you're the one. I couldn't picture my life with any other girl and I want to have you by my side for the rest of my life. So, with that: will marry me?"

"Yes," I blurt, "of course I will." He gets up and gives me a tight hug and a kiss on the mouth. Taking my left hand, he slides the ring onto my finger.

**

After hugs and congratulations, the group and I are all gathered in the living area. "So that's why you guys were all so shady this passed little while?"

"Yeah sorry about that," Rachel says apologetically, "Zayn and I knew we couldn't keep it a secret if you came to see us."

"Sorry about that," Zayn repeats.

I chuckle. "That's okay. And you!" I point to Niall. "You were busy with Harry?"

He blushes. "Yeah I'm sorry about that too," he laughs nervously.

"Well I forgive you all," I say jokingly, then looked at my ring. "It was definitely worth it."
