But the feeling of being someone's prey attacked your mind and made you feel distraught. What is this feeling? You look into the distance where the woods were. A group of trees, bushes and wildlife seemed to be the source of this feeling. You wanted to investigate but knew it was already too late and you had work tomorrow. Good old work.
The next morning it was surprisingly sunny. Beams of sunlight pierced through your translucent curtains and disturbed your slumber. Not that it was very comforting due to having many many nightmares about being devoured by the beast that stood in the corner of your room. You sat up in your bed and stared at the very corner that gave you nightmares. What was that thing? Could it be your guardian? Dark angel? A demon? All this thinking at this time in the morning gave you a headache so you decided enough was enough and you began to get dressed for work.
In the kitchen, your pots and pans had fallen again, but this time you left them on the floor knowing that they'd fall over and over no matter what you do. The wind was non-existing and the rain was gone, children were out playing despite the time. Why were children outside at this hour? Your bag hung over your shoulder slightly as you took your time to reach your job residence.
In the horizon, you saw a black and red animal standing proudly on the hills. It was 7:42 pm so this confused you. Was it a dog? No, it's strong frame and fearsome features justified that it was a wolf. An extremely large one if that. Somehow the canine noticed you and stared at you intensely. "How can it see me? We're so far apart?" you mumble as you fix your hair. If you wasn't such an animal fan, you would've let this be but you couldn't. Without a second thought, you begin to walk towards the large dog. It was obvious this one was used to humans as it showed no sign of fear or dismay, more so confidence and authority.
Now you're only a couple feet away from the dog and you realise that it''s male. But something about his facial structure scared you. The corners of his mouth had been sliced to reach his cheekbones, as if he was stuck with a constant smile and his fur was unnaturally coloured. No dog you've ever seen has had a coat this vibrant before. What a dog! Unaware of the creatures watching you, you approach the animal, "Hello, my name is (y/n), what's yours?" you ask knowing that he can not reply. He turns his body to face you, showing that he is giving you respect as he listens.
You fold your arms and tilt your head, "where is your owner?" just as you ask such a simple question, the dog growled and glared into the woods; his unnerving large smile presented all of his large teeth that could easily tear a creature in two. In fear, you take a couple steps back but this alerted the animal to look at you and growl. When you remained still, he acted calm. Could this be a warning? The wind picked up and it made you almost lose your balance. It whistled in your ears as you looked around for what the dog was guarding against.
That was it. You had enough. This was too weird for you so you decided to run from the dog and all that was going on to your house. Savage barks were heard behind you as you ran for your life to your safe room, though you knew that it wasn't all safe due to the ghostly neighbour and the poor structure. You curse to yourself as you drop your bag and run faster to your home. Luckily you were able to lock yourself inside before the dog was able to tear your limbs off from your fragile body.
He scratched and clawed at your door, piercing it which left you frightened. You wasn't afraid of death, but the build up was terrifying! In the distance you heard chains dragging across the stone pavement in the silent night. The dog had gone silent and you watched from your bedroom window to see a silhouette holding a large silver chain in his hand. He stood under a warm lighted lamppost which made everything look unreal, like it was from a movie scene. From the corner of your eye, you see the dog walk up to the man happily and he is then petted as if he was being praised for chasing you. Who is he?
Suddenly, the silhouette turns his head to look at you. You can't make out his facial expression or clothes but this reminded you of the shadow figure that stood in your room. Is this him? The thought sent shivers up your spine and you hide round the wall to lose eye contact from the man. But when you peer round it to look outside again, he was gone along with the dog. Where did he go?
All of a sudden you heard violent noises from your front door, it was the man kicking and punching your door, trying to pry it open and he was succeeding. When the door finally opened, you hid in your wardrobe, knowing that you was going to die no matter where you were. You was shut into darkness and all you could hear was the smashing of glasses, crashes of ceramic items, tumbles of furniture and... the creak of your bedroom door. Claws on your wooden floor trailed around the room which was obviously the dog, but a pair of heavy footsteps slowly walked around the room in search of his prey.
In a deep husky voice he teased, "Come out (y/n), i know where you are. You can't hide from me, i won't promise i'll leave you unharmed but i can say that you will not die. I solemnly swear it on my brother's grave." His voice deepened as he swore his oath. Not that it was going to tempt you to leave your final hope of survival.
