The soldiers and esteemed members of government had gathered. It was all for the Governors speech, afterwards there could be banter and anything else. The guards were free to train and members were sure to dance, it was a party after all?
Not long after everyone had entered a blonde girl had walked up onto the stage. She was wearing diamond earrings pared with a long flowing white dress, it seemed to glimmer in the dim lights. She held no note cards, this speech seemed to be recited so many times it was impossible to mess up.
"I would like to start off with an apology for my Fathers absence," she spoke strongly yet her eyes wandered the room- perhaps looking for something. Or maybe just nervous. Anyone could guess.
"I will be addressing you tonight on his behalf. First off, good evening. My name is Crystal Alexandra Storm, my fathers eldest daughter, one of three daughters. Its a pleasure to be speaking tonight." Her eyes finally fixed on a spot in the back of the room and she eased up.
"You are all probably wondering of my fathers plan for this country. He dreams of a utopian society. The perfect world for everyone. Where there is no war, famine, or political issues. Questions can wait until the end." She had added that last part quickly when she saw several hands shoot up in the crowd. "He plans to, with the other Governors, make this idea a reality."
"You may have heard of the rebellions... I assure you this will be handled and their causes for their actions are only greed for power and wanting our society to step backwards in stead of forwards. Think about this for a moment..." She trailed moving across the stage in an unprofessional manner, holding an arm out to the audience moving it across.
"A world with no crime." She dropped her arm maintaining a civl posture once more. "What are the people rebelling's stance? Lower class, thieves? Of course they would be against a utopia where they cant steal whatever they would want." She traveled gracefully back to the middle of the stage. "No more." She looked to everyone.
"No more war. No more starvation. No more politics! No more famine! No more crime! None! Stand with me, get up! Get up right now if you agree this must be stopped! If you agree a new government is in order! A new world! A better world!!! FOR US ALL!!!" She stood proudly see the crowd erupt in applause. Everyone had stood.
"Now... Questions?"
