"Uh- hi Ava." I walked over to her when I saw her reading a book. She looked up and smiled. I had never seen her actually smile, I had to admit, she was beautiful when she did. I took a seat and she looked in my eyes,
"Hi, can I help you?" she asked. I simply nodded. "What is it?" She asked again. I felt so weird now that I knew she was the one I would love.
"Well, Simon's mother told me a bit about the future of everyone here." When me and Simon came back two days ago we told everyone about her research, but me and Simon promised not to tell anyone what we had found out. But I had to tell Ava.
"Ok, what happened?"
"Well, she said something about you... and me." I said, nervously. Ava tilted her head,
"As in, you and me together?" She asked while closing her book and taking a seat closer to me. I nodded, moving my head, I was now avoiding eye contact. "How so? Are we going to be best friends? Secret siblings? Long lost cousins?" She giggled. I laughed too. I hadn't bothered to get to know her before, but she's funny. Even though Piper told me I would love her, I'm a little surprised I liked her that much.
"Close. We're going to grow up to- uh- I don't really know how to say this." I looked at her, she was staring at her book, and she was blushing, "I'm guessing you know what I'm trying to say." I said, she looked at me with deep, caring eyes.
"I think so." She stood up and put a hand on my shoulder, "Thats the future, we don't have to worry about that yet. So, we can friends without this being awkward right?" She smiled. I nodded. She was so sweet. She messed up my hair and walked away. Simon sat next to me,
"You told her didn't you." He said, but not as a question, he knew it was true.
"Sorry, but she's fine with it, she just doesn't want it to be awkward. Don't you want to tell, you know who, that you two will love each other?" I asked,
"I have to admit, it's tempting. But I can't. I can't tell someone they love me. Vin Diesel said that, so it has to be true." He laughed. The more I got to know Simon, the more outgoing and fun he was. "Plus it would be super awkward." He laughed, I laughed too. Hazel walked over and grabbed a book, Simon sat up in his chair,
"Hey Hazel." He said, trying to sound cool. She looked over to us,
"Hey Simon, hey James." She smiled then walked away.
"Are you sure you don't want to tell her?" I asked, he watched her leave, then looked at me.
"Have to stay true to Dominic Toronto, man." He laughed, I smiled.
Later that day, I saw Grace hanging out with Gavin. I wanted to go up to him and give him the "big brother talk". But at the time, him and my sister were just friends, so it wouldn't make sense. But I am her brother, I thought, I'm going to interrupt. So I walked over and sat in between them in the couch,
"Hey guys, whatcha doing?" I asked. Grace looked at me weird,
"Are you ok?" She asked, I laughed and nodded,
"Oh course, sister of mine. Is it bad that I want to hang out with you?" I asked, trying to block her view of Gavin. Brayden, then, walked over.
"Hey guys, I haven't seen June all day. Does anyone know where she is?" Brayden asked. I shook my head, Simon walked over to the window,
"Found her." He motioned to the window. Me, Brayden, Grace, and Gavin walked over to the window. June was pacing in front of the restaurant. I cracked open the window.
"Piper! Get out here!" She yelled. Piper came out of the restaurant, smiling.
"How may I help you?" She asked, like her cousin wasn't mad at her. June looked at her angrily, "Oh, just so you know, my son and James know that you're my cousin, and about a couple more things." She laughed. June stopped pacing and stared at her cousin so fiercely.
"What!?" She yelled.
"Not so loud, they can hear us." Piper pointed to the window, me, Simon, Grace, and Gavin jumped away from the window once June saw us.* * * * *
Now that we've gone over my days at the orphanage, we're going to skip a couple years. So this part of the story will start when I was nineteen years old. Me, Brayden, and Simon were the best of friends. Peter always hung in the background, he was fifteen now...
"Hey Peter, do you want to come to the restaurant with us?" This is not the restaurant you're thinking of. We hang out at a restaurant in the middle of town. Ava and Hazel work there. Ava and I started dating a couple months before this part of the story, I never understood why Piper told me I wouldn't marry, but I would love. But at the time, I didn't care. Simon and Hazel weren't dating but they both were crazy about each other.
"No, I have something to work on." He said, he went upstairs, I looked at Brayden. He shrugged,
"He's been working on something for a couple months, I'm not sure what it is. All I know is that he keeps telling me he's scared to drive and go to college. But I gave him a little 'big brother speech' so I think he's ok." He said. I nodded and we headed out. We got to the restaurant where I found Ava cleaning a table. I walked over and kissed her cheek,
"Hey!" She smiled. The older she got, the more beautiful she was. Her hair was long and strawberry, her facial features were almost perfect and she had beautiful blue eyes.
"Hi." I said back. Simon and Brayden took a seat in a booth. I sat next to Brayden and looked at the menu. Simon was looking around, probably for Hazel,
"She's over there." Brayden said, pointing to the counter. Simon looked and slightly smiled. "Dude, just ask her out already." Brayden laughed. Simon glared at him,
"She doesn't even know I exist." He said. Hazel walked over,
"Hey guys! How is my favorite customer?" She asked Simon,
"Me?" He asked. Me and Brayden rolled our eyes, it was so obvious she liked him, he just doesn't believe in himself. Hazel nodded and blushed. "I'm good." He said. I kicked his shin from under the table, "Ow!" He said, then looked at me. I nodded my head toward Hazel. He moved his eyes from me to her. "Umm, Hazel..." he started.
"Yes, Simon?" She asked, ready to say yes to a question she wanted to hear.
"Will you... Uh-." He looked at me and Brayden. We gave him the 'just-do-it-already' look. "... go out with me" Simon mumbled.
"I would love to." Hazel smiled.
"I understand, no hard feelings- wait, what?!" Simon looked at Hazel. She laughed,
"I would love to go out with you." She repeated. Simon looked at her in shock. Hazel giggled, "What can I get you?" She asked me and Brayden.
"I'll get a cheese burger, and I think Simon will take an aspirin." Brayden laughed. Hazel looked back at Simon, he was just staring at her.
"Simon? Are you ok?" She asked, putting a hand on his shoulder. Simon nodded,
"Yeah, I just- uh- can't believe you said yes." Simon has always thought he was never good enough, and kind of always will, which is a shame because he's a great guy.
"Well I've been waiting for you to ask me for a while." Hazel looked directly in Simon's eyes, he looked stunned.
"What? But I thought you didn't like me like that." Again, Simon never thinks he's good enough, when usually, he's too good.
"Where did you get that from?"
"I don't know, you're just kinda out of my league." He said. Hazel took a seat next to him.
"If anything, you're out of my league, you're sweet, kind, caring, helpful, and cute. I am so lucky that you like me that way." She smiled. Simon smiled too, "I'll be back with your cheese burger and a thing of fries." She said.
"Thanks." I said. She smiled and walked away, Simon slowly moved his head to looked at us.
"Finally!" Brayden said to Simon. Simon laughed. "Simon has a girlfriend." Me and Brayden sang. Ava walked over,
"So I'm guessing you finally asked Hazel in a date?" Ava smirked. Simon nodded.
While we were sitting there, happy about Simon, we heard an explosion from somewhere near by. Me and Brayden stood up and looked where it came from, it came from Brayden's house.
"Peter!" He yelled then ran out of the restaurant. I ran after him too,
"Be careful!" Ava yelled after me.
"I will." I said, then ran after Brayden. Simon followed too. We ran to Brayden's house to find Peter on a tree.
"Peter! What happened? Are you ok?" Brayden asked.
"I'm great!" Peter was smiling like a fool. I tilted my head. Peter was holding something. "Catch!" He yelled, I opened my left hand and caught it. Peter pushed a button he was holding and let's just say that I could no longer use my hand.
I moaned in pain and looked at Peter. He was smiling about his work. Simon took off his sweatshirt and put it over my wrist.
"Peter! What's gotten into you!?" Brayden yelled in anger.
"I know spells! I know what I have to do!" Peter moved his hands and he started floating, "All I need is Ava!" He yelled. I immediately looked up,
"Don't you lay a finger on her!" I yelled. He laughed,
"I don't have too." He flew away, towards the restaurant. I stood up,
"Dude, you just lost your hand-." Simon tried to convince me not to go.
"I love her." I said, then started running towards the restaurant. While I was running, I remembered what Piper said: "Yes, you will fall in love. And she will love you for the longest time until P-someone curses her to become something she's not, and to love him." She said that I will fall in love, and I did. And she did love me too. But she said that someone will curse her, that someone was Peter. I didn't know what she would be cursed into being, but I know it would be someone she's not, and he would made her love him. I could not let that happen.
All I have to say is that by the end of that day, Ava was a fairy called Tinker bell, Peter became Peter Pan, and I... I became Captain Hook.___________________________
