Hazel decided to stay over at my apartment, we both slept in the same room so if Peter took one of us, he would wake the other. In the middle of the night, a bright light entered the room. I opened my eyes and saw a beautiful woman, a woman I know and love, but she had wings, and was as small as a soda can.
"Ava?" I mumbled. She looked at me, but not the way she used to. She looked like she had seen an old friend that she didn't really know. And she didn't say anything. I stood up and went closer to her.
"Captain." I heard a familiar voice say, I turned around to see Peter standing in the window. He was wearing a green shirt and hat made of leaves, then darker green pants made of vines. His smile was evil because he knew his plan was working.
"You. Why do you keep calling me 'captain'?" I asked. He laughed and waved his hand toward Hazel. "Stop. Why are you doing this? What did these people ever do to you?" I asked. Hazel started floating over her bed and her eyes opened.
"James!" She yelled. I ran to Peter, but he flew up, to the stars. I almost fell out of the window. I looked up and saw him floating there with his arms crossed. I looked back at Hazel, she grabbed a bag. I had never seen it, and I didn't know what was in it, but before I could ask:
"Off we go to Neverland!" Peter laughed. I jumped onto Hazel and we floated up towards the sky. I looked down to find the lights of Europe. It was the most incredible thing I had ever seen. I looked at Hazel, she saw it to, and managed a smile at me. We flew up and up, so high that we were about to go to space. But then we stopped at a point in the sky. Then Peter waved his hand and me and Hazel started falling,
"Ahhh!" Me and her screamed as we fell, and fell, and fell. Until we hit ground. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt. I immediately stood up and noticed that we were on a beach. I looked up and saw Peter flying down with Ava by his side. He landed on a rock. I had so much to say, but I didn't know how to say it.
"Why did you take these people?" Hazel blurted out.
"I need an army. I call them 'The Lost Boys' and Brayden and Simon are in it." He folded his arms and smirked.
"Are we in it now?" I asked. He laughed,
"No! It's because of you that I need an army." He gestured to me, "And you, you love him, I can't have you in my army." He laughed, Hazel looked at me,
"I'm in love with Simon, not James." She said, Peter raised an eyebrow,
     "Sure." He said sarcastically.
"Why am I the reason you need an army?" I asked.
"You'll find out, Captain." He said. I looked out at the ocean, I was frustrated because he kept calling me 'captain'. I saw a mermaid in the water,
"What the-." I shook my head and looked back at Peter.
"Oh yeah, welcome to Neverland." He flew off, Ava came up to me,
"Hi! My name is Tinker-bell! You must be James Hook!" She smiled.
"What? You're Ava, and I'm James Heather." I said. She filed her head,
"No. If your name is Heather, then why are you Captain Hook?" She asked. "And my name is Tinker-bell. I'm a fairy and am in love with Peter Pan. I must go, it was nice to meet you though." She smiled, then flew after Peter.
"That was Ava. That must've been part of the curse." She said, then turned to me. I was staring at the ground, hearing Ava say that she loved someone else hurt. "I'm so sorry, James." She said.
"I knew he did something. That night..." my voice trailed off. I looked at my hand, it was still covered in bandages.
"James." She said, I looked at her, she was looking into a forest of trees. I moved my eyes to where she was looking.
"Hazel." We saw a group of people standing in the trees, we saw Simon, Brayden, and many more. They were all staring at us like we were criminals.
"Simon?" She asked and took a step closer to the trees. I grabbed her arm,
"That isn't Simon. He probably cursed everyone like he cursed Ava." I said, she nodded, but I could she desperately wanted to run to him.
"Stand down." A girl's voice came from the woods, she came out to the beach. It was a girl with colored feathers in her long, straight black hair. She was Native American and was wearing tribal clothes.
"Samantha? She hasn't aged." Hazel pointed out. It was, it was the girl from the orphanage.
"Just like Peter. She hasn't aged." I said, Hazel nodded, "I'm not sure why, but I have a feeling that we should run." I said. Hazel nodded again. We ran to the left, we had no idea where we were going, we just knew that we going away from the cursed people.
"This way!" I grabbed Hazel's arm and brought her behind a tall rock. We caught our breath, "I have.." Hazel grabbed a paper out of the bag she had.
"What is it?" I asked in between breaths. She put it in my face, I read part of it, it was a background check of Peter. "How did you-?"
"You don't want to know." She smiled. I laughed and grabbed the paper. It said that his father was an alcoholic and his mother died a month after Peter was born.
"Rough childhood." I said.
"Yes, but everyone in the orphanage did, that's why we were there. He doesn't get the right to hurt people because of his past." She said.
"I know, I'm not defending him. I'm just pointing out, mine wasn't that bad..." my voice trailed off. I thought back to my childhood:
"Honey, do you have any left over cash? Mommy needs to buy some medicine." My mother would come into my room asking for money. I would give her money and she would come back with a bottle, I would ask what she needed medicine for. "Oh, it's a slight cold but I don't want it to get worse." That's what she responded with every time. I never just the pieces together.
"What?" Hazel asked, I had been lost in thought.
"Oh, it's just that my childhood was actually really similar. My father died when my sister was newly born. And my mother, she would use all of our money to buy 'medicine'." I used finger quotes. She nodded,
"What does he mean by 'Captain?'" She asked. I shrugged,
"I have no idea." I looked above Hazel and my mouth dropped. She turned and looked up, we saw a huge ship flying.
"Captain! Are you ok!? Come aboard!" A man from the ship yelled down to us. I looked around, I couldn't see anyone else, Hazel looked at me,
"Peter does call you Captain." She said, I shrugged,
"I'm fine!" I yelled back, "How do I get back on?" I asked. The man dropped the anchor. Hazel grabbed on, I did too, with the one hand I could. He brought the anchor back on and the crew helped us get on board. I looked up and saw a crew of people with wooden legs, eyepatches, bandanas, etc.
"Captain." The one that pulled us up tipped his hat to me. I looked around one more time.
"I'm the captain? Of this ship? How?" I asked. The man smiled, he had yellow, crooked teeth.
"You're the one with the necklace." He said, he pointed to my chest, I looked down. It was a necklace with a world on one chain and a compass on the other. Simon gave it to me when we were kids, I never take it off.
Now you know one of my biggest secrets, I became who I am all by an accident. If Simon kept it, he would be "Captain".
"Oh, no. This is my friends-." Before I could explain, the man put a huge hat on my head. It covered my eyes I pushed it up my head.
"Who's this lovely lady?" The mans asked.
"Oh her, that Hazel." I said like it was some random person. I know it was rude but I was confused.
"Thanks. I'm Hazel." She hit me on the arm and put her hand out for the man to shake it. He did and smiled,
     "I'm Louis." The man smiled.
"So let me get this straight." I interrupted Hazel and Louis, "I am the captain of this crew and ship, it can fly, and -."
"Told you." I turned around to see Peter sitting on the side of the ship. Ava- Tinker bell was on his shoulder.
"You." I said, so angry I didn't know what to do. Hazel was about to run, but Louis held her back. "What do you want?"
"Just to say I told you so. I had been studying for years, once I was four years old I started researching about my life because I didn't want to die like my mother did, weak and helpless. So I realized that there were two paths I could go down. One would bring me here, if you give me Tinker bell, make me Peter Pan, and I would love my life as a hero. Or I would be a successful historian. That sounded boring. But the only way that I would be able to go down this path, was if I figured out how to stay young forever, and to learn magic. I did. I learned that you become Captain Hook because of your hand. You'll hunt me down because I took all of these kids. Do it. I dare you to try." He said. It took everything inside not to punch him.
Now you know how this started. Peter isn't the hero you thought he was. I'm not a hero either. If I was, I would've stopped him from the beginning. But part of me wanted this adventure. And because of that, I am evil.

What's going to happen next??
Sorry, I am being dramatic. I'm also sorry that this story is taking a weird turn. I'll probably end it early, I'm glad that you've liked this book so far, but it's beginning to be not what I wanted and it's to late to change it. There will probably only be a couple more chapters.
