Only Us [Royal Au]

[I'm sorry, I'm addicted to Musicals]
Background- This is a royal au. Hiccup is prince and astrid is his right hand women in a war againts the dragon hunters. They are dating but hiccup feels that he shouldnt be putting all the riders in danger, especialy her. He starts to doubt himself and if he really deserves her.

Setting- Empty ballroom, night time

[Also Astrud is in a dress to give everything a more dramatic feel]

"I dont need you to sell me one reason to want you, I dont need you to search for proof that I should" Astrid walked up to Hiccup, who was quietly looking out at the kingdom below them on the balcony.

"You don't have to convice me, You dont have to be scared you're not enough, because what we've going is good." She stands by him and holds his hand.

"I dont need reminders of all that's been broken" She looks in the far distance where the remains of and ashes of a hunters ship was.

"I dont need you to fix what i've rather forget" She closes her eyes and looks away.

"Clear the slate and start over, try to quiet the voices in your head, we cant compete with all that" She lightly taps his head and made him look up to her.

"So what if its us, what if its us and only us?" She moves infront of him, grabbing his other hand.

"And what came before wont count anymore or matter, can we try that?" She gives a smile.

"What if its you, what if its me and thats all that we needed to be?" She raises her hand to his face.

"And the rest of the world falls away, what do you say?" Hiccup gives a soft laugh and looks up at her, a smile gracing his features.

"I never thought there be someone like you who would want me," He tells her.

"Well... " She blushes slightly.

"So I give you ten thousand reasons to not let me go, but if you really see me, if you like me for me and nothing else,"  He started to really smile now bringing her closer to him.

"Well thats all i've wanted for longer then you could possibly know!" He pulls her into a a dance position, wrapping his arms around her and spins her around.

"So it can be us, it can be us, and only us!" Astrid laughed as they dance in the empty ballroom.

"And what came before wont count anymore or matter, can we try that?" They dance carefree.

"We can just watch the whole world dissapear!" Astrid points towards the smoke in the distsnce.

"Till you're the only one I see I still know how to see!" This time hiccup steps infront of her.

"Its just you and me," He led her down a hallway.

"It'll be us, It'll be us and only us, and what came before wont count anymore," He passes portraits of the past rulers of berk.

"We can try that!" They sing in unison as they leave the castle and into the court yard.

"You and Me,"  They stop at a bench in front of a garden.

"Thats all that we need it to be!" Hiccup sits down and hugs Astrid.

"and the rest of the world falls away, and the rest of the world falls away" Astrid puts her head on hiccups shoulder and hugs him back.

"The world falls away, the world falls away, and its only us" They stay there silently enjoying each others company.
