MLP(My Little Phoenix)

Part 2

JAKOB'S POV

 

I was in my car listening to music as I was driving t'ward a resturant downtown. I had my windows down and wind blowing in my face as a peculair scent hit me. It was shifter and too close to my mate's house for my liking. It was scent I had encountered before. I couldn't pinpoint when and that is what worried me. As I got closer to my mate's house the scent grew stronger, and that's when it hit me. I have smelled it on my mate.It seemed to linger on her like she is in close contact with it everyday. But she's human and this was a shifter scent. It didn't make since to me and worried me a little. So, I did the only rational thing,I stopped by her house. My mate's scent was entoxicating and I could smell it all day everyday. It was roses and chocolate with a hint of coffe. But this scent was smoke(fire) and mint leaves. It smelled simular to a trademark smell of a phoenix. But I dismissed that thought as soon as the bird shifter smell hit me.

I pulled up to my mate's house and heard two female voices. One was my beautiful mate's and the other wa one I didn't know. I was on edge as was. I rang the door bell and heard footsteps and then the door opened revealing a young girl. My inner alpha was growling and the only word that came out was threat. I was watching her closely now. I knew she was nervous about me. After all I am a very big threat. "Jakob! We were supposed to meet at the resturant downtown,"  Marrisa said recovering from the obvious suprise. I nodded.

 "Yes, I remember, but you said you had a duaghter and I couldn't wait to meet her," I said feigning innocence. I was eyeing the girl still warry.

"Jakob meet my daughter Mulan," I smirked. I now knew her name and it was rediculous! I couldn't hlp but lagh in my head.

"Hello sir, nice to meet you," She was eyeing me the same way as I was her. "Come in," She said as she stepped out of the way so I could come in. I cautously stepped into the house. "Don't worry I don't bite," I could tell it was only meant for me. So I did a bit of low talking myself.

"She is human, you are not, how is she you mother?"

"step, both parents died,"

"oh," Was all I could think. My wolf was wrong. She was no threat. She probably hadn't even shifted yet.

"You two getting along?!" Marisa yelled from somewhere in the house.

"Yes mother," Mulan replied a she kissed Marrisa on the cheek. Marrisa sent her a wink and Mulan sent me a warning glare and then ran upstairs.

"So Jakob tell me the real reason you stopped by" She demanded. My mate was smarter than she let on.

"I was worried that's all,"

"Cut the crap I know you are the Alpha of the pack that hunts down what my daughter is to shift to," She spat with venom. "And that I am your mate," I gawked. But how?!

"How?" I asked astonished.

"How else? My best friend was a shifter. Falcon if I remember corectly. And oh! Did I forget to mention half y family are hunters?" She winked at me. This was news I had to tell my beta. My mate's family are hunters!

Calm down Alpha. As long as she's not or doesn't want to be she is no threat.

But her daughter is, as Marrisa claims, a phoenix.

That's impossible. There hasn't been a phoenix in our parts for 17 years.

I guess.

Good, now we need you back at the pack. There was some trouble with a few pack members.

I'll be there.........My concentration was cut off by a yell from Mulan. After finding an exuse to get out of there and a brief fight with Mulan I was on my way home. As I got to the pack house my beta came up to me.

"Keep an eye on Marrisa's daughter, she's no human." The beta nodded confused. I knew he would be.

"But Marris is her mom and she's human,"

"Yes, I know, but marrisa is her step mother," I informed him. "Get her sur name. I want to know who her parents are," Jake nodded and ran off to do his task. I was ready to go inside when my head guard came up to me.

"Alpha, someone saw a phoenix south of the border"

"That's near marrisa's house," I was starting to feel panic settle in the pit of my stomach.

"It lookd like it entered the border and was following you,"

"Thank you mae, you are dismissed. Oh and find and kill this phoenix," Mae nodded and ran off. I heard a rustling behind me. Instinctivley I turned around to see a phoenix.  "You," I said as it landed infront of me an shifted into Mulan. I gasped that's what was wrong with her scent.

"Are you gonna kill me?" She asked with a smug look on her face.

'Yes, I am,"

"What will Marrisa say about you killing her one and only daughter? I'll tell you what she would reject you and move on," She spat. This made me angry,more my inner alpha than anything, and then I realised she was right.

"Who are you're parents?" she shook her head.

"You'll never find out. Oh, and I'm a hybrid not a full phoenix," With that she shifted and flew into the night sky. I rallied my guards and went to Marrisa's house looking to kill the only threat to my family there was, Mulan.

"Keep your eyes open and be alert we are confronting my mate and her adopted daughter Mulan,"

"Sorry to ask sir but both are human," One of my men said.

"The daughter' a phoenix," Growls all around could be heard. In minutes we were there. I slammed into the door and shouted for Marrisa to come to me. I heard two heart beats upstairs and signaled to my men to go there. Just as we hit the landing Marrisa and Mulan stepped out of a room. I came forward as Marrisa stepped infront of Mulan as if to protect her. I laughed and told two of my men to move her. As they moved forward Marrisa shifted into a huge beautiful phoenix. Just as two of my men raised their guns at my mate. I looked on horrified as my men shot Marrisa. I fell to he ground as she shifted back. But instead of Marrisa it was Mulan who got shot. Marrisa shifted back and was cradling Mulan in her arms as she wept golden tears. I knelt beside her but she just pushed me away.

"You did this!" She yelled her voice had become so broken. I could feel my men behind ready to defend me at any given time. "You killed my beloved daughter," She quietly sobbed out. I stood, my head bowed, and walked out. My men followed.

"I never told you to shoot," I said harshly to the two men.

"It was reflex im sorry alpha. Those bullets were only to paralize though not kill,"

"Did I say to shoot?"

"No sir,"

"Then why did you shoot?"

"We got scared. We havent seen a phoenix that big for twenty something years," I nodded I understood. But why my mate? As we drove back to the pack house we knew there would be a party for our sucess but truth be told none of us wanted that.

We got to the pack house to see everyone with smiles on their faces, but all our faces held was pain and loss. They knew as much as I that we just lost our luna and my mate. I then became so sad all I wanted was to hide in the darkness of night forever and become just that. a shadow. Let me explain. When any supernatural is suffering from the loss of someone, they feel like hiding in the shadows of night. If they do that, they themselves will become a shadow and their soul and body will die, but their mind and pressance will still be there. I hung my head and walked to my room. A few days later there was screaming and battle, no one from my pack died, but I did not want to fight or kill. I wanted to be alone. Right then my door burst open and could hear a sharp blade being pulled from its holster. I looked over and saw her.

Sorry for the depressing mood but I thought it was time to spice things up a bit. Who is the her though. I need your help readers. It's up to you on who the her is. there will be more updates as I get mor reads and votes.
