Isabella
I sigh as I stand in front of my wardrobe flicking through my clothes, what to wear, what to wear?
I can hear Sophie and Erin sat on my bed flicking through a magazine murmuring and giggling about something. I notice the song change, orchestrated by Jade, trying to get us into the right mood. I can see Rosie out of the corner of my eye staring incredulously at my prized possession: my shoe collection.
“They’re just so beautiful” Rosie chokes out as if trying to hold back tears.
I go over to join her in front of my shoe closet which holds and displays my finest shoes. I laugh at her face. Maybe I should pick my shoes before my outfit.
I run my eyes over the shelves of shoes; the lovely black, white and gold strappy River Island sandals, my trusty black crystal Topshop wedges, the simple purple bow Miss Selfridge heels, the sugar pink studded Topshop peeptoes, the gold glitter River Island platforms, the black crochet Miss Selfridge heels and the woven nude All Saints heels to name just a few. Then my most prized shoes, the designer shoes: the nubuck calf leather slingbacks with delicate bow ankle straps from Louis Vuitton, the elegant black bow heels from Jimmy Choo, the striking black strappy Louboutins and finally the shoes which I will wear tonight – the beautiful red bow platform heels from Kurt Geiger, my newest pair which stole my heart within a second. I smile as I make my decision and pick up my beautiful new shoes.
“Good choice” Rosie observes “they are so beautiful” she practically swoons.
“I know” I sigh, my love for them is just too strong, although it makes finding an outfit to match a lot easier. I pick out my black body con dress, my trusty little black dress. I hang it on the handle of my wardrobe and place my striking red heels below it. I head towards my dressing table where Jade is now searching through my also rather impressive make up collection. I quickly rummage through pulling out what I need, scarlet red nail varnish, jet black liquid liner and a pillar box red lipstick. I start to apply the nail varnish on my toes and finger nails as my friends start to assemble their make up and also try to pick an outfit from the array of outfits we’ve scattered around my room.
Once my nails have dried I start to assemble my make up. Skin perfecting foundation, rosy blusher, shimmering bronzer, captivating liquid liner partnered with false lashes ready flutter.
“Do mine, do mine” Rosie asks thrusting a make up bag towards me whilst doing her best Tigger impression again. I finish off Rosie’s make up and before I know it my lazy friends have formed a queue for me to do their eye liner or apply their bronzer or put on their false eye lashes.
Once we’re all made up we start to get changed into our carefully picked out outfits. I put on my dress which clings to my body like a second skin showing off my curves and small, slight frame. I carefully slip on my beautiful shoes which allow me to stand a good few inches taller than usual. I head back towards my mirror tilting my head from side to side trying to figure out what else my outfit needs. I pick up my bronzer with a larger brush this time and carefully brush the shimmering powder across my collar bone and along my chest before passing it on to Rosie.
I start to toss around my naturally long wavy hair “how about this” Sophie says as she starts to pin back the front of my hair “shows off your face more” she says with a smile and a quick squeeze of my shoulders before moving on to help Erin with her hair.
I scrutinize my appearance in the mirror; I look so different with the front of my hair pinned back. Without anything to hide behind my eyes look bigger, my cheek bones look more defined, my lips fuller but these things were only heightened since vampire blood coursed through my veins. I pick up the pillar box red lipstick which I picked out earlier; I apply it to my lips making my lips look fuller still and my cupids bow more pronounced.
