A/N I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to write and upload this chapter, I just found this chapter really difficult to write, I knew what I wanted to say but not how to say it and I don't like to post things unless I'm completely happy with them. So I am really sorry and I hope you still want to read it.

Chapter 7

Isabella

I have managed to avoid being alone with Jamie all day, and trust me when I say it wasn’t easy. He’s been trying to find out what happened last night and why I called a meeting all day long, I’ll tell him at the meeting, I can’t handle him on my own, I need the others for back up. He’ll only start ranting on at me, lecturing me as if he’s my Dad, as if I can’t look after myself. But I can look after myself, last night proves that. Pity he doesn’t see it that way.

I walk through town, heading towards the woods; I managed to squirm my way out of meeting him in town before meeting the others. He wasn’t pleased but over the past year I’ve gotten pretty good at making excuses and lying, not that I’m proud of it, but it is necessary.

I know I’m a bit early as I step into the woods, but the others won’t be far away, probably within hearing distance with vampire super hearing. But I don’t use it much and just concentrate on the music filling my ears, thanks to my iPod I can block out the extra hearing abilities, which can be very annoying.

I’m the first one to arrive at the old oak, as planned, I want to be here before the others, but I don’t take my earphones out, instead I widen my senses, close my eyes and lean against the oak and wait for the others to get here.

My eyes snap open and I pull one of my earphones out of my ear as I look around the small clearing and my eyes fix on a tree in the corner furthest from me just as Tom jumps down from it. I smile at him in greeting and put my earphone back in my ear as he saunters over to me, a huge grin on his face.  He drapes an arm casually round my shoulder. “Hey babe” he says charmingly.

I roll my eyes at him; God only knows why girls fall for this. “Hey” I reply flirtatiously, fluttering my eye lashes slightly at him, trying to look as desirable as possible, for me.

His eyes widen slightly at my reply but his bad boy smirk returns, not many people would notice the change. “I’m so glad we’re finally alone” he whispers in my ear, now accepting the challenge I’ve presented, desperate for me to be the one to pull back. He’s been trying to hit on me for a year now, constant flirting, constantly making remarks about us, much to Jamie’s annoyance. I’m something he can’t have; a girl who is immune to his charms, whose best friend would never allow it. So to Tom, it’s just a game, a game he is desperate to win, but he knows I’m too competitive to let him win easily.

“Me too, I’ve been wanting this for ages” I practically purr and he shivers slightly, I hold back the urge to laugh.

“Oh really” he says raising an eyebrow “you know” he whispers again “I’ve been having some very vivid dreams about you, very dirty dreams” he says.

“Me too” I purr now trying so hard not to burst out laughing.

“Really?” he asks, stepping away, looking genuinely surprised, he actually believed me.

“No, you idiot” I laugh.

He pouts when he realises that for once, I actually played the game instead of pushing him away whilst rolling my eyes.

The sound of clapping rings out from the opposite side of the clearing and George emerges from in between the trees. “That was brilliant, you really got him then” he says, smiling proudly at me as he comes towards me and envelopes me into a hug whilst Tom is sulking.
