Chapter 8.

Shubman's POV-

"Please!." Adithi begged.

"But, we went out just yesterday!" I told her .

"Please Shub! Look! We'll do one thing. We'll have dinner and then we'll go to the nearby lake. Such an amazing idea, dude." She told me, holding me by my shoulders.

I looked at her with a 'You're not going to give up' look. And she grinned.

"Fine." I huffed.

"But if-" "The media won't find out Shub! Trust me. Even if they see you, I'll run away from there." She laughed.

I rolled my eyes at her and went to get ready.

I got ready and walked towards Adithi's room.

I was about to knock on the door but she stepped out all of a sudden. And, instead, I knocked on her forehead.

She closed her eyes while smiling.

"Chal, let's go." She stated, opening her eyes and looking at me.

She tossed her car keys to me and locked the apartment and sat in the car.

"Where to?" I asked her.

"You know what, swap places." She told me, while getting out of the car.

"Why?" I asked her, still sitting in the driver's seat when she came to my door.

"I'll tell you, but first go sit there." She told me, pointing to the passenger's seat.

I did as she said.

She started the car and reached the main road.

"So?" I asked.

"I'm taking you out on a date." She winked at me.

"You what?" I laughed at her sentence.

"Shut up. I'll beat you up." She stated, laughing with me.

"But why this date?" I asked her.

"Last time, you took me out on a coffee date. So, this time, I'm taking you out on a dinner date." She said.

"Well, okay. So, where are we going?" I asked her.

"Surprise. Surprise." She sang.

"Okay, but please don't kill me or something. Team India needs me." I smirked at her.

She rolled her eyes, and said, "Sure, your majesty."

Adithi took me to a restaurant called 'Karavali'.

We ordered our food and joked about people sitting around. Don't get me wrong, we don't always do it. This was just for fun.

There were fans who came up to me for pictures and autographs. Some of them even asked whether, Adithi was my girlfriend, all I said was, "Not yet.". Adithi turned into a tomato each time I said that.

We ate our dinner while talking about the most random things.

Adithi and I also fought over paying the bill. She then told me, if I don't let her pay the bill, she'll call the media. Initially, I didn't believe her, but later she showed me her contacts which surprisingly did have quite a few media company numbers.

I let her pay the bill not before throwing so many death stares at her.

We walked to the car and I asked for the keys. She gave me a confused look but did not refuse.

I opened the passenger's seat for her and jogged to the driver's seat.

"So.... where?" She asked.

"Surprise. Surprise." I mimicked her.

She laughed at me, and whined, "Tell me".

"Just ending this date with something special." I winked at her making her smile.

We reached the lake and stepped out of the car. Adithi removed her footwear and walked bare feet. I did the same.

She stepped into the shallow part of the water and shrieked, "This is so cold."

I chuckled at her and took out my phone to click pictures of her.

I got many candid shots. And needless to say, she looked gorgeous in each of them.

It's almost been a week since I've been staying with Adithi. She's an amazing girl. She knows how to keep me sane and make me smile. She makes me happy. Whenever she's around, I can be myself. This might sound stupid but it's like I can breathe properly- like, she's my oxygen or something.

We walked in silence.

My fingers brushing Adithi's. She intertwined our fingers and I gripped it tightly. Not wanting to let go.

"Shub, I want to tell you something. But promise me, if the feelings aren't mutual, it won't affect our friendship." She said.

I couldn't help but smile at her.

"You've got the idea." She blushed.

"You like me?" I teased her.

She nodded her head, not looking at me.

"Adithi likes me." I sang.

"Shut up." She mumbled.

"Adithi likes me." I sang again.

She was about to walk away when I pulled her into my chest.

Adithi looked into my eyes and I rested my forehead against hers.

"I like you too." I confessed causing her to smile.

She slowly and silently pulled back and led our walk.

We walked for a couple of minutes more until I stopped her.

"So what are we now?" I asked to which she shrugged her shoulders.

"We just went out on a date. Would it be appropriate for me to ask you be my girlfriend? Because that would make sense." I stated, pulling her close.

"Sounds nice." She chuckled.

"Hmm.. let me think." She quickly added while smiling.

I rolled my eyes at her drama.

"Aha, yes I will." She chuckled.

"And, you know what's the best way to end a date?" I asked her, looking at her lips.

"I don't know." She said, softly biting her lips.

I smiled at her, for I know, she got what I meant.

"This."

I leaned in and captured her lips with mine. Her hands made their way up to my hair, and I pulled her closer, keeping my hands on her waist.

We pulled away, due to lack of oxygen.

"If I'm ever gasping for air, I know you'd be my oxygen." She smiled.

I smiled at her and pulled her in for another kiss.
