Prologue
Nick’s POV
Now, most of you might be wondering what a 19 year old young man is doing driving to an Insane Asylum at 9 pm at night. I got one answer for you my friend.
Sister.
Yes. I have a sister at the insane asylum. She doesn’t work there. She isn’t a volunteer there. I don’t think anybody would want to volunteer there. Anyways, she is a patient there. Yes, she is insane. LET THE SHOUTING BEGIN! Why is she in there? Well, insanity runs in our family. It started with my mother. She believed in ghosts and always talked to this “Johnny” guy. This Johnny guy got too dangerous for her family too. He convinced my mother to stab her brother with a pencil on his arm. You can guess what else he would have convinced my mother to do. She was admitted to the asylum and came out when she was 26 years old. My dad, on the other hand, was a demon believer. He believed in demons and was just so mentally unstable. That is actually how my parents meet! They meet at the insane asylum when my mom was moved to the room beside my dad. That is when their friendship/love flourished! Note the lovely sarcasm in both these sentences. Since then, me and my sister were born and blah, blah blah! Etc, etc. Anyways! The reason my sister is in an insane asylum is for one main reason. She loves fire.
No. I don’t mean just like, enjoy it. I mean, it’s her life!!
She loves fire. She always talks about fire. Fire this, fire that, fire everywhere!! Again, note the sarcasm!! Literally, it gets so annoying to hear her talk about! She gave me a whole lecture about how the soul is like a burning flame. You can obviously see where that can get damn annoying and just plain dumbing my brain. I’M LOSING BRAIN CELLS HERE!!
Now, this obsession of hers got her in a wee little trouble. When I say ‘wee’, I mean lots! I mean like, top news for a whole month! What did she do cause that? Now, this is a lovely story! Note sarcasm once again. I’m a very sarcastic person so please know when I use sarcasm! I don’t want to keep pointing it out for you! Anyways! Her obsession was a bit weird and eventually, she wanted to go as far as burning down our whole house just to watch it excitedly. Then what was weird was that she started to ball her out eyes immediately. Liek it was yay! Woah! Stop...NO! Cry cry. Like oh my gosh! Bipolar much!
Anyways, since then she was admitted into the Insane Asylum and now I come to visit her. Now, as you can probably tell. I get quite annoyed by my sister. I mean, fire! That's like the only on her mind! It irritates me so much! But then why do I continue to visit her? One person! Only one. His name?
Ash.
I only know his nickname, ok!? Sorry! God, judgmental much. Anyways! He is the only reason I keep going to the Insane Asylum. That and also I love hearing the screams of the patients. It kind of sends a thrill throw my body. It's fucked up. But whatever. I honestly believe Ash is amazing and just plain cool. To be honest here, between you and me, he is pretty damn hot. LIKE MY GOD! Did it get hot in here all of a sudden? No? Oh. It's just me. Oops! I swear, he is like a sex god! But obviously I wouldn't tell him this to his face because...I don't want to freak the dude out.
Another little piece of information for you all, I'm gay. YES! I'm gay and proud! I don't give a fuck what you say. Now back to the story!
So I parked in front of the asylum and got out my lovely car and went inside the building. It was pretty old. Some mold gathering up against the brick wall and the windows grayish while the iron doors kind of gave away the building age. I signed in and went up the stairs to the second floor. My sister's room was right beside Ash's which made everything great for me!
As I got there, I knocked on my sister's door, waiting for a response. The security guard on the end of the hall nodded at me and smiled. I was a bit creeped out by this but I ignored it. I saw my sister open the door and hug me instantly.
"PANDA!" She exclaimed, hugging me tightly. I laughed and hugged back.
"Hello to you too!" I said with a smile. I heard a low chuckle and Ash came out of his room. I smiled at him lightly and looked at Elizabeth, my sister.
"I still can't get over the fact that you two are siblings and that your nick name is Panda." He said, directing the comment to me. I nodded.
"I know. I'm the normal one. And shut up Ash!" I said, feeling a slight blush creep up my face.
"Oh my gosh! I love your name, Ash! Ash. It reminds me of the ashes that form when you finish burning something down! Little tiny ashes!" She said, letting go of me and jumping up and down while clapping happily. Ash laughed and put his hands on her shoulders, making her stay still.
"Calm down. I'll take over the visit now." He said with a smile.
"Don't touch me!" She shouted, smacking Ash's hand away from her. I held in a laugh and watched. "I swear, if you touch me or even hug me, I'm going to scream out rape and run away from you." She said, looking at Ash. He seemed serious but then laughed lightly and looked at her.
"Alright then. Get over here!" He exclaimed, opening his arms up and ready to hug my sister. She instantly screamed a blood-curdling scream and ran into her room, slamming the door shut.
"RAPE! RAPE I SAY! GET AWAY FROM ME!" She screamed. I laughed at her. She was hilarious.
Now, if you haven't noticed. She seems innocent and naive. It's because she is. But let me tell you, she already knows everything about those subjects that little children don't know about. And even perhaps more! She knows about it but she just doesn't think about it as much as I or Ash does combined. Or just me alone!
"Love you too!" He shouted, going to his room. I followed.
"What's up with her and "no hugs" policy?" I ask him.
"Oh that is a long story on itself." He said, not further explaining. I nodded and sat down on the table. He lied down on his bed and looked up at the ceiling.
"So anything new?" I asked. He shock his head. There was always something new here at the asylum. "Really? I don't believe you." I stated, crossing my arms across my chest. He chuckled.
"You will." He said.
"Why would I?" I asked him. He looked at me and instantly tackled me to the floor and started to tickle me. I bursted into a fit of laughter.
"Because I'll tickle you until you do!" He exclaimed happily, laughing.
