Chapter 11: Cuts

Punk looked into the broken bathroom mirror and dabbed the cut he had under his eye with alcohol. He had received the cut earlier that night when Sadie accidently hit him too hard when they were practicing.

He winced when the stinging sensation took it's tole and did its job.

"Damn it," Punk said and then the stinging stopped. "Rookies though."

The cut under his eye reminded him of the time he was practicing with Charlotte and she fell down off the ropes and broke her finger. For a month he blamed himself for that. Each day she assured him that she just lost her balance and that he couldn't of changed anything but he knew that he could've. He was going to stand at the end on the steps just in case she fell off but decided against it because he thought she could hold her own but she did in fact fall and he wasn't there to catch her.

Punk came out of the memory and back into reality when he felt water trickle down on his feet. He had let the sink overflow and now he was rushing to turn it off.

"Damn it!"

He sat down a couple of towels on the nasty floor so it wouldn't rot anymore than it already had and headed into the bedroom of the crappy 10 dollar a night hotel.

The TV didn't even have ten channels and what it did have it only had blurry messed up ones.

He found it hopeless anymore. Sadie was great and all but how long could he really lie to her before breaking down and telling her everything? This lie wasn't only hurting her but it was hurting everyone. Cody, Sadie's kids, himself and possibly even Charlotte. Why was he being so selfish? He didn't know. He didn't know anything. He thought he did.

Punk fell back onto the bed and closed his eyes. He wasn't running away or creating an imagine far from reality but he was just resting. Not a thought came to mind. Not a picture of anything came to mind. No voices, just silence.

Next thing he knew he was falling asleep and dreaming of an illusion called love created by hopeless people like him that only ended in a horrible disaster that makes you realize reality screws everything up. But that wasn't how his dream ended.

It ended like a movie. A great movie. Charlotte and him were married and happy and all was well. No money or wrestling career had gotten in the way.

Then Punk woke up and realized that it was time to fall back into reality and reality was coming on real harsh about then because it was 12 o'clock pm and that meant he had missed Paul teachings about promos that he had been so set on going to.

"Well what is there to live for anymore? Training rookies and getting cuts? Being late and irresponsible? What a life I live." Punk laughed before rolling over and falling back asleep. If he couldn't have Charlotte in real life he was going to have her in his dreams at least.

Cody sat down on a locker room bench and sighed. Monday Night RAW was almost over and he had been dodging Randy ever since his talk with Pat.

Cody looked down at his blue Nike bag that had a pair of hot pink wrestling trunks on them. The trunks had a the letter 'C' and 'R' printed in big neon green cursive letters on the bottom. They were simple but nice. He also had black boots with the Zelda sign on them which he requested because of his gaming obsession.

"Oh look who it is. Dusty's little boy. Nice to see you around, you fool."

Cody looked up with cation to find Randy Orton towering above him. A smirked played across his lips as the fear escalated in Cody's eyes.

"I don't want no trouble," Cody said. "My dad would be really ashamed of me if I got into any trouble so if you don't mind-"

"You still hid behind daddy's cowboy boots?"
