Chapter 5

Erika

We were running from Logan after we stole the safe. We were actually doing pretty good until we ran into the FBI.

"Where did you get that," the man said.

"My house," I said.

"Then why are you running with it."

"Because......"

"Because we are playing hide the safe with her brother. We give clues to find it. There is nothing in it it's an old safe, that's why it's so heavy," Gus said. I don't know how he came up with that quickly.

"That safe is brand new, it came out last year, something is suspicious with you to and I'm not sure what. I recognize every face in this town but your face, young man, I do not recognize." This FBI man was scaring me now.

"He's not from around here," I say.

"Oh yes he is, I know this kind of stuff," now he is really starting to creep me out, how would he know this stuff about Gus?

"H..... H...... How would you know that," I was stuttering and Gus must have noticed I was scared he grabbed my hand and gripped it tightly.

"I'm apart of the FBI I know this kind of stuff," before I could say anything he continues, "I'm going to need to ask for your names."

"I don't feel confortable telling you that."

"Well if you don't tell me your going to have to come with me."

"Her name is Erika Skywater and I'm Ag.." He tried to say his real name but I cut in.

"And he is Gus Jaylon," I say quickly.

"So I see you are a Skywater," he knew something that I didn't. "I'm going to keep a close eye on you two and see what you are up too."

"Thanks for telling is your secrets," Gus says and then walks away and I follow.

We walk for a while without saying anything we go inside out "home" and then I start crying.

"What are we going to do," I can't hold in the tears, "They know something about me that I don't know. Now they are onto you to."

"Hey it's going to be okay, I promise," he is holding me tight as I cry into his shirt. "We will figure this all out but first lets go get something okay."

"Okay, let me wash up quickly I'm kinda a mess," I say wiping my tears away.

"A beautiful mess."

I blush and walk to into the bathroom to wash up. As I wash up I hear Gus trying to get the safe open. Or at least I think that is what he is doing. I walk out to see what he is doing.

"This dang safe will not open," he says angerly.

"Need some help there," I say laughing.

"I guess, come over here."

He stands up and I stick this tool think in he game me. I start to pry it open and it doesn't budge. He wraps his arms around me and puts his hands on mine as we try to pry it open together. It finally opens and we see stacks of money, all $100 bills.

"Holy sweet money, there must be at least a million dollars in here," I say with my mouth wide open.

"Not that much money in the fut..." I cover his mouth.

"Don't say that we can't risk anything, we need a code name," I say.

"How about some random word from the place that I'm from that nobody knows about."

"I don't think that is such a good idea."

"True..."

"What about, give me a second," I say. We sit there think a while.

"What about eternity," he says smiling.

"Sure, but it means something. Explain."

"Because no matter where we are or what time it is we will always love each other. For eternity."

"Wow I love it. Eternity. For some reason it suddenly has a certain ring to it."

"It does. I love you Erika Skywater."

He just said he loves me. He actually says he loves me. I start having tears. Why do I have tears? I am so happy.

"Gus I love you too."

He picks me up and spins me around and kisses me.

"You know when it's just us you can call me Agustin."

"I know. I just like Gus. It suits you. Now can we go get something to eat I am starving?"

He laughs. "Yes c'mon lets go."
