Chapter 2

The next day, I woke up with a bunch of text messages. I was hoping they were all from Jack. I leaned over to my night table and reached for my phone and pulled it off the charger. I sighed as I noticed all the messages were from Laura. Just random spams full of hearts. I tried messaging Jack all day, but he didn't even respond. I'm starting to get worried. My mom and dad are always working so i'm mostly home alone. I'm also an only child. Later on I messaged Laura.

"What do you wanna do this weekend?" 

Laura: "Shauna is having a party at her house! We should go!"

"How many people..?"

Laura: "I'm not sure, but it's got to be fun!"

"Eh, alright. i'll go. Is Tony going with you?"

Laura: "Yeah, probably. It's only Thursday and we have until saturday to find out what to wear!"

"I'll message you tomorrow Laura, I'm gonna try to get a hold of Jack."

Laura: " Ttyl girl! xoxo"

I tried to call Jack 14 times and no respond. I tried calling 5 minutes after and he finally picked up. "Hello?" He answered. "Hey! How come you haven't been answering?" I responded. "Oh.. Sorry, I didn't realize my phone was ringing." He said. "Hmph, well, whatever. Wanna come to a party with Me, Laura and Tony on Saturday?" I asked. "I'm gonna catch up with some friends. Maybe next time, but you shouldn't go either." He suggested. "Well Oka-" He then cut me off "I'll call you back later, I'm getting a call." And he hung up.

I spent the next day searching for something to wear, But all i could find were high wasted denim shorts and a black crop top. I didn't really care what i'd look like, it's not like i'm trying to impress anyone, right? I don't think my parents will mind if I go to Shauna's party tomorrow. I'm also known as one of the most innocent people EVER. I don't smoke or drink.. Well, maybe a couple drinks but only on special occasions. It's been 24 hours and Jack still hasn't called me back. He's never acted like this before.

It's finally saturday and Laura came to my house at 10 AM when I was still asleep. "Wake up Penny!!" She yelled as she jumped on me. "What do you want?!" I sighed. "Get ready, Get ready!" She just went on. "It's only 10.." I said as i rolled over putting my blanket over my head. "We're gonna hang out today! Come on you lazy ass!" She said. I rolled over and sat up. "When does the party start?" I asked. "At 5." She answered. I got dressed and Laura wore white jeans with a strapless pink crop top. She had her thin, medium length, blonde hair in a tight ponytail. My hair was really thick, curly, light brown and i just let it down. I didn't really care how my hair looked.
