~Two weeks after Double G's funeral - Continued~
Kenzie frowns at the scene in front of her, holding back a gag. The couple went from a heartwarming embrace to a full on make-out session.
How could Babe have forgotten the nights she cried herself to sleep when Mason first moved to a different state? She watches, silently, an eerie ring developing. Tears make it to her eyes while her chest heaves violently, in sync with the pounding of her heart.
She watches, with jealousy dripping from her eyes.
"Pitiful."
Kenzie jolts. She's been caught staring. "What?" she doesn't deny it, scrambling to her feet, thinking of a way to salvage her dignity.
Mason continues reciprocating Kenzie's stare with his own. He instinctively hooks her arm around Babe's neck. Kenzie notices his hand slightly twitch, as if out of insecurity. Slowly, his icy cold glare turns back towards Babe. "Babe, I feel like I've missed out something," Mason mutters hoarsely, "did I do something to her?"
Babe doesn't say anything, "It's not you."
Kenzie's brows furrow.
Mason stays silent, looking down at the girl in front of him. He tightens his arms around her neck, pacing slowly towards Kenzie. The sides of his lips curl up slightly, "You need to get laid." was all he said before sitting down. His tone isn't too blunt, like he's using a euphemism to cushion the harshness of his words.
Kenzie eyes widen. It seems, he's hit her right where it hurts. Without another thought, she storms off.
Mason's gaze follows Kenzie, his smile getting even wider.
Babe notices and looks at the handsome drink of water situated beside her. Before she can say anything, Mason speaks up, "Do you know what I did when I went back to Florida?"
Babe shakes her head. She's usually got a lot to say, but Kenzie's weird behavior paired with Mason's sudden appearance leaves her unusually quiet.
"I studied acting," he turns his head, looking at Babe, "I had to study people, learned about why people act the way they do. Eventually, I figured out how to read people and see through their feelings."
Babe nods.
Mason looks away and smiles. "You need to stop blaming yourself for Kenzie's behaviour."
Babe looks at Mason, her eyebrows furrowed, "It's my fault."
"No. It's mine. She's jealous."
"What do you mean?"
"Don't you get it?" Mason chuckles, "she likes you."
