Nothing could've prepared me for Defense Against the Dark Arts the next day. For what stood before me was Professor Snape standing alongside Professor Lupin.
"Hello, students, we have a guest joining us today. All of you are familiar with Professor Snape I'm sure. He's going to be assisting with your lesson in defending yourselves and attacking your enemies." Lupin announced, proudly. My head was spinning as I realized what was about to happen.
They'd be fighting over me.
My breaths became heavy as everyone made their way to the Great Hall. I stayed further behind, whispering to Snape from the corner of my mouth.
"Please, don't kill him," I begged, silently, as a persistent smirk flashed across his face.
When he reached the stage, he let his robes fall to the floor, engulfing the room with the scent of potion ingredients. Fred and George met my side, giving me a worried look.
"Snape's going to kill him," George admitted, nervously.
"Ten silver sickles says Lupin wins," Fred laughed, excited.
"Deal," George agreed, taking the free money.
"Are you mad? Lupin's probably been studying all night for this," I explained, quickly.
"I hate to say it sweet heart, but your boyfriends dealt with the Dark Lord himself. I'm pretty sure you can't get that kind of experience from a textbook," George informed, promisingly.
"You don't actually think he'll kill him do you?" I asked, becoming more worried by the second.
It was too late, before either one could respond, Lupin had started the lesson.
"Professor Snape, I'm going to let you decide which we'll start with," Lupin offered, politely.
"Attacking your enemies?" Snape decided, coldly. "Unless you're afraid?" He smirked, knowing he had the higher ground.
