Emma's P.O.V.
-the next morning

As I walk into Granny's for breakfast, I bump into Hook.

"Good morning darling," he says to me.

"Hi," I reply as I sit down next to him to order.

Ruby walks up to us.

"What can I get for you two this morning?" she questions.

"The usual," I say.

"I'll have what she's having," Hook answers.

As Ruby walks away, Hook and I continue our conversation.

"I never did get to try that hot cocoa and cinnamon," Hook tells me," since Elsa interrupted our last meal."

"Oh right," I say," I'm sure you'll love it. Well hopefully."

Hook chuckles and I giggle. Then Hook's expression goes from amused to adoring. He looks at me lovingly.

"What is it?" I ask with a smile.

"I'm just so lucky to have you Emma Swan. I couldn't ask for anything better," he replies.

"You're right about that," I joke.

Hook laughs.

Then, he leans in to kiss me. I put my hand around his head and kiss back.

We are interrupted by Ruby who tries to walk by and slip us our drinks, unnoticed, but it doesn't work.

"Thanks Ruby," I call after her.

I look at Hook and smirk.

"You should try the cocoa," I say.

Hook agrees to try it, and slowly brings the mug to his lips to take a sip.

I expect him to spit it out, but he doesn't. Instead he rubs his stomach and goes for another sip.

"It's delicious," he exclaims.

"Are you serious?" I question.

"Yeah I'm serious! I've never had anything like it," Hook replies.

"Well then, I guess you're a Charming at heart. My whole family likes cinnamon, but nobody else seems to," I inform him.

"Everybody else must be crazy then," he says.

I laugh, but then am stopped by a sight that makes my heart sink.

Robin and Marian are at a booth, his arm around her shoulder, laughing. And Regina is glancing between them, and Hook and me.

Robin and Marian must be on a date.

I go to talk to Regina.

"Regina-"

"Don't talk to me," she replies bitterly.

"I was just going to say I'm sorry," I whisper.

"No matter how often you say sorry, no matter how sincere the apology, that does not change the fact that you ruined my happy ending, and now you are just living your own."

She's right.

To her it probably seems like I'm rubbing my relationship right in her face.

I walk out the door with tears gathering up in my eyes, but I don't let them fall.

"Swan?" Hook calls after me.

Of course he is following me. Can't he see I want to be alone?

Apparently Hook's best skill isn't mind reading. He runs right after me and stands across from me at the docks.

"What's wrong?" he asks sincerely while wiping away some tears from my eyes.

I sigh.

This always happens. I think I want to be alone, but Hook changes that. He makes me want to never leave his side. But I have to. At least I have to for a while.

Hook's P.O.V.

I look at the ground while waiting for Emma to respond.

"We just completely ruined Regina's final chance for a happy ending, yet here we are living our own- practically rubbing it in her face," Emma snaps.

Ouch. That hurt. Is she breaking up with me?

"Wh-what are you saying?" I stutter.

"I-I just," Emma struggles to say through tears that are just begging to come out of her eyes," I don't think I can live with myself as long as I'm living my happy ending while she isn't. I don't deserve it."

"You don't deserve it?" I rhetorically ask," Emma you lived 28 years without parents, you have had multiple loves of yours die, and that's not even the start of it! I think you deserve to live happily."

"Regina has gone through so much crap in her life," Emma argues," her first loves heart was crushed right in front of her, and he died in her arms. Then after years of seeking vengeance and revenge, she finally found someone else she loves, only for his first love to come back from the dead. Nobody can even compare to that."

"Sure about that?" I say, my voice raising," I know what that feels like, believe me!"

Emma goes absolutely silent.

"I'm sorry," she tells me with a saddened face while she grabs my hand.

"Please Swan," I plead," please don't leave me."

I run my hook through her golden hair, and tears start to run down my face.

"I promise we can resume this the moment Regina and Robin get together," Emma reassures me.

"I'll love you forever Emma," I whisper.

She gets on her tiptoes and plant a quick but passionate kiss on my lips.

"Promise?" she questions.

"Yes," I softly say," forever."

"Goodbye Hook."

And just like that, gone.
