Trials- A Kuroo T. X Reader(please look at most recent chapter before starting)

First Practice -3

   School ends sooner then you thought it would. You pack up your stuff you need for homework and get up and leave. You had an okay idea of where the guys gym is but even when you arrived you could hear people already in the gym .
You enter the gym having the door slowly squeak open on you, making a sound grabbing everyone's attention burn onto your skin.
You, unsure what to do walk up to the coaches. " Oh hello, Y/N!, I didn't actually think you would come! I'm coach Naoi, and this is coach Nekomata." You shake both of their hands. "You might want to join the boys in their stretches just to make sure you don't pull anything." He looks at you, " And maybe you should change clothing, you don't need to do butterfly's in a skirt." You laugh at yourself... of course... You grab your school bag and go to the girls restroom to change. You put on your one size to big gym uniform and head back to the gym. The team was still stretching, but you being to awkward to join them right away walk back to the coaches.
" Now that looks better Y/N!, Here I'll take you to them." Coach Naoi says.
You and him both walk up to the boys who stop counting.
" Okay, So this Here is Y/N she's going to be a member of this team for awhile, helping us where help is needed... so treat her like a member.. although I don't think I need to tell you boys that." They all smile awkwardly and make space for you in the circle. You heart starts to beat faster and you could feel your face getting red.
Everyone has a blank expression on their face but it's broken when when kuroo laughed, " Okay then, welcome to the team Y/N, now let's get back to stretches." Trying your hardest to help the guys, you only felt like more of a burden to them. You tried to collect the balls that went out of bounce when serving but you bumped into two of guys making them fall over. You wanted to cry, you felt so embarrassed. You also handed the guys water bottles. When giving Kuroos his water bottle, he leans in and whispers something into your ear.
" Your doing fine, Y/N." He then smiles and joins the group of guys. You stand alone with a hole in your stomach. Practice isn't even close to being over, it's only been an hour. You decide to sit down on the floor against the wall. Sitting next to your bag  against the wall you realized just now you never told your mom that your staying after school. You take your phone out and began to call your mom.
The phone rings and your mom picks up. " Hello sweetie, how are you?"
" Oh hey-Hi mom... I'm Uh at volleyball practice."
" Oh I know, I got an email."
" Oh oka-." Your phone was taken from you. You didn't notice Kuroo walking up towards you.
Hey picks up your phone and continues the conversation, " Hey Mrs. L/N, we can't have our phones out during practice so can we end this call?" He then laughed and says goodbye.
" Your mom seems nice..."
" She is... she's really nice." You say taking your phone back.
Kuroo looks around and sighs, " You should join us for the last few minutes of break."
You smile. " Thanks but not yet... I made two of them trip and I'm not ready to face them yet." You said covering your face with your hands.
He looks at you and smiles, " Okay join us when your ready." He runs back to the rest of the team. Break soon finishes and you went back to help the guys. You were more cautious when you tried to help. You occasionally sweaped the floor of any sweat and waters.
Practiced ended and the team and coaches had a quick meeting on what they worked on. You felt to awkward to join the talk so you just stood in the door way. You saw the coaches occasionally looking at you when speaking. When the entire practice was finally wrapped up Kuroo runs up to.
Sweaty and red he smiles, " So how was your first practice." He takes a towel and wipes his face.
" Uh it was... okay... no I felt like a burden- I'm -I'm sorry this isn't my choice." You look up.
" Hey it's okay, the rest of the team is gonna go the convenience store for some snacks, want to come with us? It'll makes things less awkward." He shrugs. Your to sacred to but it's almost as if Kuroo reads your mind.
" Your scared? About what? I'll be with you the entire time." He smiles and waits for your response.
" I'm sorry, but my dad's home and i haven't seen him in a long time so I think I should have dinner with him before he leaves again." You smile and look towards Kuroo and his bed head of hair, " I'm sorry Kuroo-San."
He laughs, " Nah it's okay family first, see you around Y/N-Chan." He walks off and join the guys again leaving you to yourself. Coach Naoi hands you the highlighted schedule for more important games and practices that you should go to.
Once he does he says your free to go home. You look outside and it's almost dark the sun is setting and you could feel the breeze picking up.
When your home dinner has already been made and it turns out your parents were waiting for you.
" So how was practice?" Mom said. She hands you a plate. You put the salad on it and say, " It wasn't bad... just awkward."
" You know I used to play volleyball in highschool." You Dad adds. " I was pretty good at blocking because of my height."
" Yeah Nekomas volleyball has good reflexes and are good at receiving, they really are like cats." You smile. You happen to find yourself thinking about Kuroo whenever he received he looked intense and focused but he has a smile on his face.
After dinner you took a shower and started your homework. In the middle of working you got a text from an unknown number. It said:
K: Hey Y/N it's me kuroo, just wanted to Hi. Also are you coming to practice tomorrow?
You: Oh hey Kuroo.
yes I'm coming to practice Tomorrow... just a question how did you get my number?
K: I used your phone today remember, I may or may not have memorized it
You: Thats a bit creepy
K: it wasn't that hard to remember I mean the first 6 numbers are like everyone else in the area
You: Yeah I guess you only had to memorize 4 numbers then
K: Yeah see! Any ways I hope you had fun at practice and maybe you will join us walking back home one day
You: Yeah! Definitely, just not when my dad's home
K: Okay, Check you meow't later 🐾
You: Bye
You couldn't help but smile at that last text. You giggled and continued working on your homework. When 11 o clock came you knew it was time to go to sleep but you still felt like something was going on in your mind. It was Kuroo's stupid text. It kept making you laugh. A third year who's over 6foot making a cat pun.
You heard a knock on your door and it was your dad.
" Maybe you should get going to sleep Y/N? It's getting late." He says.
" I was just about too! Night Dad! love you." You say and tuck yourself into bed.
