Trials- A Kuroo T. X Reader(please look at most recent chapter before starting)

Tea -4

     A another week went by of highlighted practice. Today was the first day you didn't have to go, but yet you still felt like the team would for some reason get mad at you if you didn't show up.
    Lunch time came around and you got your food ready. The loner boy introduced himself and it turns out his name is Neo. You and Neo now sit together in the class room and share food.
    " So hows the volleyball team?" Neo asks you.
    You laugh. " Their something, but a good something." You take a bite of your sandwich.
    " That's good, how about Kuroo? I know he's different to you." He says looking at you.
    " Different in what ways?"
    He swallows a bit of his apple," Well he's the only guy on the Volleyball team that you talk to, and you always blush when your next to him." He laughs after.
    " Well he did ask me to walk home with them but I said no." I respond.
    " Really why? You can get closer to them."  He says.
    You think for a second, " It's easier to avoid them I guess... I don't even know at this point, I've been doing this for a week but today is the first day I don't have to go."  You say tiredly.
    Neo looks up at you and says, " Why not just go and tell Kuroo you want to walk home with them."
   " Easier Said then done."
   " Ah yes, but if said it can be done." He jokes.
   You roll your eyes, " What kind of logic is that? If I said I could fly that doesn't mean I can fly."
     " Y/N," he sighs, " Think about it... there's ways to achieve goals."
    The bell rings before you can say any more. If said it can be done...now that's stupid.
    School ended and this time you ran to the girls bathroom and changed in what feels like two seconds. You entered the gym and was the first one there. You go into the supply closet to get poles out but it slips out of your hands. Before it can hit you in the head someone catches it. 
You turn around and it's Kuroo.  You were left speechless as he motioned you to help him.
    " Thank you." You tell him as you were walking out of the closet.
  " No problem... we don't need you to get a concussion." He half jokingly said but was also semi serious.
   " What are you doing here? Today's practice, you didn't have to come to." He asks.
   " Oh, that re-reminds me... can I walk home with you guys?" Kuroos eyes widens and you two put the first pole in.
  " Yeah of course, are you sure though?"
  You nod as both of you get the other pole. Soon enough the gym is filled with the rest of the team and you all start to stretch. Instead of being excluded to the corner during the stretching you sit next to Kuroo who smirks whenever you count with him. The boys recognize the change and smile. They talk to you a bit during practice and this time when you did trip someone they talked to you for a few seconds and went on their way. Sadly this practice you got hit in the head with a Volleyball and was forced to sit out for half an hour. This practice was one of the longer ones which is why you didn't have to come today. When the first break came you gave all the guys their water bottle and towels. Each one of them thanked you and smiled. You said no problem and stayed standing next to them slowly putting yourself in the conversation.
    You had to run a small job for Coach Nekomata in the main office for some papers. While walking back from the office you happen to see Neo walk out of a classroom. You called for him.
     " Hey Neo!" You yell.
      He looks back at you surprised. " What's up Y/N-Chan?"
     Once you catch up, " Oh nothing I'm getting papers for Coach." He nods.
     " I just came out of book club, but no one came so I just read in the class." He said sighing. 
     " Aw man I'm sorry." You say putting your hand on his shoulder.
    " Hey! Y/N are you okay what's taking so long? Coach Naoi thought you might be ditching!" Kuroo yells from half way across the hallway.
     You begin to feel red because as he got closer he adds, " I was starting to get worried too,  when you  weren't there to help clean up the served balls."
     " ... thanks for caring but I-I'm okay I'm just talking with a friend." You tell Kuroo.
    Neo joins into the conversation, " Well I should get, see you later Y/N, Bye Kuroo." And storms off. He seemed a bit annoyed but you would talk to him later about it.
      You and Kuroo both stand there awkwardly for a minute. " Hey, That Neo guy... do you like him?" He says stretching his back.
     You widen your eyes, " Neo? What... uh no. No he's just a- he's just a friend."
    His eyes look relieved, " That's good, we should get going back to practice don't you think?"  You nod and walk back to the gym with Kuroo at your side.  Why did he say 'That's good' you thought.
    Practice after that lasted one more hour. When the team was cleaning up Kuroo ushered you to the side, " Hey so the second years have a big test tomorrow so they won't be coming with us, and now a lot of the first years aren't going so it's just us third years this time, but I thinks thats better for you... you know start slow and work yourself up."  He smiles and his eyes squints. He brushes his hair back but it fails landing in his face again.
    You laugh, " Yeah that's fine with me." And you put the towels in the bag. Kuroo runs over to Kai and Yaku, the only other third years on the team. Yaku is very nice to you although you don't talk with him that much, same for Kai.
   " Great Practice today boys!," Kuroo says then adds, " and gal." And gives a smirk. One of the 2nd years, Kenma who is one of Kuroos closest friend looks at you. " And to you second years, do good on your test! If you don't you'll fail the class and you won't be able to play volleyball... so try your hardest and get some sleep tonight."
     Yaku laughs, " Well said, Captain."
All the first and second years say goodbye while all the third years stay behind for a bit.
    " Y/N joining us this time guys just so you know." Kuroo says. Kai and Yaku wave and all four of you walk out the door locking the gym off and turning off the lights.
     " Where to?" Yaku asks kuroo.
      He thinks for a second before saying, " How about we go to a coffee shop?" Kai laughs.
     " Seriously at this hour? We aren't those second years with a test tomorrow."
   You add in, " Well- you Uh you don't have to get coffee, you can get other things like pastry's and tea."
    Kuroo smiles, " So I guess it's settled."
The 4 third years started to walk down the street towards the busier part of town.    
Once arrived at the coffee shop you and the rest of the team find it to be closed.
    " Who else besides us wants coffee at 9pm?" Yaku says.
    Kuroo laughs, " Well I guess we should have checked the time." He smiles.
    " Sorry Y/N-San," Kai says to you, " We totally ruined your time, and by we I mean Kuroo did."
Kuroo sarcastically says 'Hey' And pretends to be offended. 
    You smile, " It's okay I still had fun talking to you guys! It sucks we haven't met before this." You say. Your eyes connect with Kuroos for a second and you feel a light blush start to spread on your face. " I think I should going now, it's getting pretty late."
   " Which way are you going?" Yaku asks. You point down the street, " Aw man not me but Kuroo lives down there, he'll be a gentleman and walk you home."
   You look up at Kuroo who has a blank expression on his face as he stares as Yaku.
   " You'll walk her home right?" Yaku asks Kuroo more persistently.
    Kuroos snaps back into reality,    " Yeah , Yeah of course." He smiles.
    " Well I should get going too guys, see you on Monday!"
  You, Kuroo, and Yaku wave goodbye as Yaku also went his separate way.
   " So should we start heading home?" You ask Kuroo. He nods and you start to walk.
   He looks down at you and takes your backpack of your shoulder.
   " Huh? Why are you doing that?" You ask him. Kuroo smiles.
   " You look to be struggling."
Was I? I know I'm weak but- your thought was interrupted by Kuroo
" So hows your family?"
    " Their good! My dad is over seas again so I won't see him again for awhile, and my mom sweet as always!" You tell Kuroo.
" Hey do you have any siblings?" Kuroo asks you.
" I do! I have a older brother but he's like 30 so he doesn't live at home." You respond. " Although I do seem him kinda often."
For the rest of the walk to your house is was mostly quite except for the occasional small talk placed here and there.
   When he walks you up to the doorstep he stops and stares at you. His hazel eyes look adorable and perfect in the porch light.
   " Do you maybe want to come in for some quick tea? Since we didn't get any cause it was closed." You ask Kuroo expecting to be denied but he gladly accepts it.
