I'm 17, and I battle Cancer. I never know if people care about me, or they care about my illness. The only person I can lean on is my best friend, Jack. For 2 years my Cancer has come and gone, but he has stayed. Everything remains the same until someone joins my life. -Jackie

-Day 1-
"Mom I'm tired of this."

Pills, they have been something the doctors believe will help. I have been on medication after medication. I'm their tester. I test out medication, by choice.

"Come on Honey."

"Fine, can I have the water please."

"Here you go take them one at a time... or all at the same time."

"One at a time is too slow for me."

*knock knock*

Jack pops his head in and a smile creeps on my face. He's holding flowers for me.

"I didn't tell you I was home."  I said smiling.

"Well I assumed and turns out my assumptions were correct." He laughed and hugged me.

"So how's life Orange?" Jack asked.

Jack calls me Orange because I love the color orange, I love oranges, and when we first met I was eating an orange and first thing he said was "Hey orange" and he's called me that ever since.

"Oh you know Oprah just left, nice lady. Um I won the lottery and I had pizza."

"Someone's sassy." Jack said laughing and hopping on the counter sitting next to me.

I put my head on his shoulder and exhaled deeply. He followed my actions and we sat there.

"You okay?" He asked me and I looked at him. "Dumb question, what's up?"

"My mom, she was on the phone and all I heard was 'April 8th? Perfect I'll talk about it then'."

"You don't think it's," Jack started

"Yeah, it's Chemo. I'm going on for my second round of Chemo."

"Shit."

"What?" I questioned.

"Jackie I'm going to be on tour."

Jack's in a band. I'm so happy for him. Ever since he was a kid he'd sing and we'd write songs together both having a passion for music. Once I was diagnosed with Cancer, I lost my sight in music. Jack still sings to me whenever he's around but he's also gone a lot of the time. I support him in his music as much as possible but I still can't support myself in music.

"That's okay. I don't want you to have to see me bald anyways." I laughed but he didn't.

"Jackie..."

"What?"

"I have an idea." Jack said jumping off the counter and grabbing my hands. I got off the counter and followed Jack to my room.

"Okay so your idea is to bring me to my room and dig through my clothes?" I asked Jack threw clothes at me and walked out.

"Put them on!" He yelled through the door, "you're going out tonight." He exclaimed.

I walked out to Jack fixing his hair in a spoon. This kid.

"Okay what's going on?" I asked and he just smiled
