Happy Easter, everyone! Thanks for reading!

"I want you to take me to coffee."
He arched one dark eyebrow at me. "Really? That's what you want? You want me to take you to coffee?"
I stiffened. "What's wrong with that? It would be nice to discuss our new arrangement some place a tad bit cozier than the Men's bathroom."
He slowly unfurled the sexiest smile he'd ever given me. It was the smile he gave to girls he'd selected as his next victim; I had seen it many times, but never for me.
I almost melted bonelessly to the floor right there, but somehow remained standing, clutching my bag.
"Fair enough." He took a step closer to me. "Should we seal our new deal with a kiss then?"
I flushed, surprised he was being this way and suddenly feeling incredibly lightheaded.
The bell rang for last period right then and I jumped. "Pick me up outside after school." I said, trying to sound commanding.
He said nothing, just gave me a regular smirk and got the door for me.
He bowed mockingly as I proceeded him primly out of the bathroom stall.
But inside, my heart was shaking.
"You had better-"
Dalton was already checking the door, however. He glanced out then held the door ajar for me.
As soon as I was away from him, I started legit running the heck away from him as fast as I could and I arrived at my last class out of breath and out of sorts.
I had done it!
I was now effectively blackmailing the bad boy who lived next door.
###
"What're you grinnin' about?" Samoane demanded as class began to wrap up.
Finally!
It felt like it had crept by, taking three times longer than normal.
"Don't think we haven't noticed you blushin' and squirmin' all class!" Kensi whispered in my other ear and I'm sure I blushed all the harder.
"It's just hot in here, yo. Yoddles." I evaded, stretching, yawning and checking my watch. Most people didn't wear watches anymore these days, when all you had to do was check your phone, but I still wore a watch.
It was my father's watch, for one thing. My real father, not the man who's been living in my house for the past few years.
Mitch was great and everything, he was a hard worker and he was good to my mom, but he wasn't my real dad and I had struggled with that for a long time, 'til I'd gotten used to having Mitch around.
I saw why my mamma liked him, even if he was kind of a dorky white guy.
The final bell rang and I leapt up, so nervous that I was about to simply bolt out the door.
"Where's the fire?" Samoane teased me, getting up and stretching leisurely. "Wanna go get fries and milk shakes, ya'll?"
That was our Friday tradition and it was a rhetorical question.
"Can't. Gotta study for that math test that's coming up." I said abruptly.
Samoane raised her dark eyebrows, one of which was pierced. "Dude, lame."
Kensi was giggling as she read a message on her phone.
"What's up?" I asked her, just to distract Samoane, who I so did not need on my case right now.
"Apparently, Dalton just dumped Carmella hardcore in the courtyard; in front of everybody. Said she was smothering him about the dance. She is freakin' out right now. Better head out the back way!"
Samoane and Kensi started laughing together, but I was too stunned to even react.
He had actually done it!
I had expected him to drag his feet about it.
Or simply not do it at all.
Still, that was a little low, I thought, him dumping her in front of everyone...I couldn't help but feel a little bit bad about that. I wanted justice for myself, but I didn't want things to get too ugly.
Might be a little too late for that already, though.
"You guys go ahead, I'm gonna do some catch up work in the computer lab." I lied to my friends and felt even worse, but they bought it easily enough and soon left me standing there in the hallway.
Feeling numb, I turned and forced myself to walk.
On the steps outside, my heart went into overdrive at the sight of Dalton Patricelli sitting on his motorcycle in the drop-off lane; waiting for me.
It felt like a dream as I slowly descended the steps. I had never been on his motorcycle before. I had touched it once, but he doesn't know about that.
That was something I reserved for my own diary, which I already had well hidden, aka NOT in my underwear drawer!
Dalton glanced over at me and smiled.
My heart just about stopped.
He had his sunglasses on.
Just...damn.
I tripped on the sidewalk, of course, and had to right myself, and he was laughing when I finally approached his idling Norton.
Glaring now, I snatched his helmet out of his hands and shoved it on my head.
He grinned up at me. "Hop on, Queen of my Strings."
I made a face at him and awkwardly swung my leg over the back of the bike.
I settled in and started grinning as soon as he couldn't see my face.
Now I got to...
"You're gonna wanna hold on." He warned, and he revved the engine ominously at me.
Grinning so much my face hurt, I slid my arms around his waist and pressed against his back.
Oh...
My...
God.
It was just...
Heaven.
He flooded the engine, taking off, and I squealed despite myself, tightening my grip on him as we sped away.
The schoolyard was fairly deserted already and so not many people would have seen us ride off together. But a handful of people did, and word would get out quickly.
It would look like exactly what it was.
Dalton had dumped Carmella and then rode off with me on the back of his motorcycle.
