“So let me get this straight,” Cassie said, still looking shell shocked as she leaned against the door frame of the bathroom, “You and Dylan are going on a date?”

“Yes,” I rolled my eyes as I brushed my hair.

“And you are actually willing to date him?” she asked.

“Yes,” I answered as I put on lavender lip balm. My nerves already on edge.

“Even after you specifically said you didn't want to date him because of your friendship?” she prodded.

“Cassie, stop badgering the girl,” Eric chastised her.

“I’m not badgering, I’m just curious,” she protested.

“Same thing,” he rolled his brown eyes as he awkwardly shifted for a moment before walking out of the bathroom. Eric and Cassie were heading out but they claimed they were going out to some hang out spot to see who could get the most girls.

Cassie would win.

We went downstairs to catch the ten thirty bus to town. At school we could only leave campus during the weekends to go to town with the buses that come from our school or if we had family nearby or friends we could go and visit them as long as we’re back by seven o’clock at night.

Dylan was waiting for us outside the dorm building, with Alex by his side.

“Hey, sweets!” Alex said eagerly when he saw me, “Missed me?”

“Yup, and now you totally made my day by showing up here,” I teased, hugging him anyways.

“Ha, take that Dylan,” he stuck his tongue out at Dylan as I pulled away.

“I thought we were going on a date,” Dylan arched an eyebrow, a half-smile on his face.

“And we are,” I said, looping my arm through his as we walked towards the buses.

I spotted Lilie and Chase up ahead and slowed down slightly. Dylan shot me questioning look before he followed my gaze and scowled. Chase had quite the shiner; his eye was completely bruised and his lip was swollen and still split.

He looked really ugly today.

I loved it.

I sniggered at the thought and pulled Dylan forward, figuring I could at least antagonize them a little bit before we went on our date.

“Oh hey Lilie!” I said cheerily as I skid to a halt behind them, “Wow Chase, nice shiner. Where’d you get it?”

He shot me the death glare, as did Lilie while I continued to grin broadly.

“Hello Dia,” Lilie said, her tone forced to be nice but even then I could hear how much she hated me, “Where are you going?”

“Dylan and I are going to see a movie together,” I said as he slipped an arm around my waist, pursing his lips to keep from laughing.

“I didn’t know friends went out to movies,” she said icily.

“Actually, we’re going out on a date,” Dyaln said matter-of-factly.

Lilie's blue eyes blazed and she inhaled sharply, forcing her face into a smile.

Yikes. That’s a face that could scare small children.

“Good for you two,” she said almost robotically before she turned around and got on the bus.

“Oh God, she so wants to kill me,” I snorted with laughter as soon as she got on the bus.
