Michael; Yes, Susan, I’m sorry. I just can not work for Ms Bradley. She’s too hard to work for. I told her that I was giving my two weeks notice this morning. So by Monday after next can you have a new sitter for the girls and Ms. Bradley?

Susan; I can try Michael. I’m sorry it didn’t work out. She seemed so pleasant on the phone. I’ll get on it right away. I’ll need you to come in next week sometime and fill out the papers for the official reason why you were requesting to be replaced however Michael, okay?

Michael; Sure thing Susan. Say, Thursday noonish?

Susan. Ummmm…..yeah. that would be fine. See you then. Good luck.

Michael; Thanks, I’ll need it I’m sure. Sounding angry and sad at the same time.

THE NEXT DAY….

Michael; Good morning Ms Bradley Michael said very pleasantly but professionally. Little to no eye contact.

April: Good morning Mr. Jackson. She was a bit curt. Here is a list of the girls do’s and don’t’s. I want this list followed to the letter please. She turns and leaves and heads for the door.

Michael; Yes Ms. Bradley he said but he couldn’t hide the sadness in his voice completely.

April didn’t notice or if she did. She never let on that she had. Michael watched her go with tears in his eyes and a heavy heart. He tells himself that it just wasn’t meant to be. Getting the girls ready for school they take off and as Michael pulls up to the school to drop the girls off. He steels himself for another barrage of Ms. Smith.  When they get there instead of Ms. Smith standing there waiting for them it’s Mr. Bray the principle and another two gentlemen.

Mr. Bray: Mr. Jackson may we speak with you a moment?

Michael; Sure. Okay girls go on inside. Have a great day. I’ll see you at noon.

Dina; Okay Michael. She runs in

Sharon; smiling. Okay Michael! She follows her sister inside.

Mr. Bray. These gentlemen are Mr. Davis and Mr. Carr. They are from the board of education and would like to speak to you in regards of a formal complaint against Ms. Smith.

Michael; Okay, yes what would you like to know?

Mr. Carr; Anything you can tell us. Would you mind coming to the office with us?

Michael: Sure. Can I move my car down there and meet you there say in 5 min?

Mr. Davis. Of course. We will see you there. They shake hands and part ways.

Michael drives up closer to the main office of the school. He wanted to make sure he remembered to ask what happened to her and who will teach the children now. He also wanted to know if he could help and volunteer in the classroom once a week with the children if that was acceptable.
