Chapter 2

By lunch Luke was in a pissy mood.

He sat down next to Michael, his aggression almost palpable as he took some of Michael's food.

Michael, however, either didn't pick up on this anger or didn't care when he said, "Luke! This is my new friend, Ashton. He's sitting with us today."

Ashton awkwardly waved hello as Luke looked up, blushing slightly as he noticed that Ashton's curly hair and dimples turned him on slightly.

"Hi," Luke grumbled.

"Anyways, now that you two have been introduced, Lukey, you comin over after school?"

Michael asked casually, but concern was slightly visible in his eyes.

You comin over for a slight reprieve?

Almost as if to continue their silent conversation, Luke looked to Michael, pleading, as he said, "Can't. Got detention. Can I come over after?"

Cause my dad'll beat me half to death if I come home that late.

He nodded.

"Anyways, I have to go see Mr. Ross to makeup a quiz. Why don't you two get to know each other?" Michael said, a mischievous smile forming on his face.

Luke was about to protest, but then Michael winked and left.

Oh I am going to kill him later.

"So, Luke, got any hobbies?"

Luke huffed a laugh, smiling slightly. "Hobbies? You don't wanna ask if any rumors about me are true? Let's get it out of the way. What do you want to know?"

Ashton shook his head. "I don't believe any of them. No way you're part of organized crime. You're too cute." His face turned bright red. "I-I, um, didn't mean to say that."

He looked down, getting quiet. "I understand if you don't want to be friends with me anymore."

Luke looked shocked. "Hey. Who gives a shit if you're gay or not. You're pretty cute if I do say so myself," he said, winking.

"And you're one of the only people I've ever met who's first question wasn't about the bruises on my face. So I say you're pretty cool Ashton."

The curly haired boy practically beamed. "I think you're pretty cool too."

a/n: anyways I wrote these two chapters today. I'm not quite sure where I want the story to go, but I have one more chapter written for much later in the story. I hope you guys like this!!
