It was hard for Auden to stay mad at Scott and Stiles, not just because they were basically her only friends, but also because she was an overly curious person, and wanted desperately to know what was going on.
She wanted to know how Scott had handled his first full moon. He was still alive, as was Stiles, so she took it to mean it couldn't have gone too badly. Every time Auden passed Scott in the hallways at school, or sat across from him at the kitchen table, he'd smile feebly at her. Auden knew it was his attempt to fix things, but she couldn't allow herself to give in just yet. She had a point to prove. She was just as involved in Scott's situation as the boys were, and if ignoring them for a while was what it took to prove that, then so be it. It wasn't often that the three of them fought, and Auden didn't like being mad at them, but she was upset, and this wasn't something she was willing to sweep under the rug.
For the next few days, Auden ate lunch with Boyd, and spent her study periods in the library with Allison, who had informed Auden that Scott had asked for a second chance after their disastrous first date. Allison had agreed, but made him sweat it out for a while before she'd said yes, which cemented the fact that she and Auden could definitely be great friends.

On Wednesday night, Auden had been trying to finish the rest of her homework when there was a knock at the door. Pausing her music, she turned around, smiling when she saw her mom.
"Hey daughter, can I come in?"
Their mom had always been respectful of the twins' space, especially after the divorce. Auden wasn't sure if it was because of his job or his personality, but their father always seemed to be prying into Auden and Scott's business. He still did, but it was much easier to ignore a text than someone standing in front of you.
Auden nodded, and Melissa came in, settling onto the edge of her bed. When she got up to sit next to her, Melissa patted her thigh, smiling.
"Aud, is everything okay with your brother?" Auden's head snapped up at her mother's question, a wave of panic rushing through her.
"Why wouldn't he be okay? Did something happen to him?" There was a definite edge in Auden's voice, but she couldn't tamp it down.
"No, no," Melissa was quick to reassure her. "I was just talking to him and he seemed really stressed. I just wanted to know if you knew anything. He's not...he's not doing drugs or anything is he?"
Their mom was always worrying that the divorce was going to affect Scott and Auden negatively, and as a nurse, she'd seen her fair share of overdoses. It made sense that she'd be worried that he had a drug problem. Auden squeezed her hand, trying her best to comfort her the way her mom always seemed to do for her.
"He's not on drugs, Mom. He's just stressed because school is hard, and he's got lacrosse, and there's the whole Allison thing." The relief on Melissa's face was evident, and she smiled feebly.
"Okay, good. That reminds me, since your brother made first line, I got Friday night off of work to go watch the game. Are you too cool to go with your mom?"
It was news to Auden that Scott had made first line, no doubt due to his newly acquired lycanthropic abilities.
"I'll never be too cool for you, Mom. Besides, someone has to laugh at Scott when he tries to score in the wrong goal."
Melissa smacked at Auden's leg for the jab at Scott, but laughed, and wished Auden luck with her homework before she left for work.

After school on Friday, Auden spent an hour searching for new music, before throwing herself on her bed, watching as her fan slowly rotated. She'd been stressing about what would happen during the game since she woke up that morning.
