"Why y'all looking like somebody just died?" Lexie chuckled while walking down the stairs, she was referring to our sad faces.

"Mom died." I said while wiping the tears in my eyes.

"Omg y'all I am so sorry." she said while hugging me.

"You good sis" Dre said. "You didn't know."

"How did she die?"

"Car blow up."

"Whaat?" Lexie said.

I scrunched my face up. "A car blow up?" I thought to myself

"Yep, blew up right in front of her house while she was warming the car." Dre said.

I shook my head no. "Where was Dave? I said.

He shrugged his shoulders "They cant find him."

I just know Dave have something to do with it! My mom dies in a car blow up and he just automatically disappear? It don't sound right .Although I don't care for her, Kaden still needs a mother figure in his life!

Kaden began to cry. I picked him up, putting the pacifier in his mouth.

"Wait a minute, so this yall lil brother." Lexie said.

"Yep." I said looking up at her.

"Damn this some fucked up shit." She said while sitting back down.

"So where was Kaden at?"

"In the house, the neighbor heard the car blow up, came outside and called the police."

"What we gone do?" I said to Dre.

"I don't know but I anit taking care of no baby."

"So where he gone go?" I asked with a confused look on my face.

I do understand Dre's anger towards our mother but this is our baby brother we cant just leave him like this...but then again I know if we keep him I'm going to be the only one taking care of him and its going to get in the way of my future plans of moving to New York.

"I don't know but he cant stay here." He said.

I rolled my eyes.

"I'm finna make a call, Ill be back." He said walking outside.

"Damn Alley,what yall gone do?" Lexie asked.

I looked into Kaden's beautiful big eyes. "I don't know."

I could feel myself wanting to cry, not because of my mom but because of the Kaden. Where was he going to go? He for sure not going to no orphanage! Imma make sure of that!

"Can you hold him for minute." I said to Lexie.

"Yea sure." She said grabbing him off my lap.

I stood up and started heading for the door.

"Where you going?" She asked.

"To talk to Dre." I said while walking out the door, closing it behind me.

"Man look, imma be there you just make sure he got my fucking money! I'm getting real impatient with these motherfuckers!" Dre said before hanging up.

He rubbed his hand down his face.

"You good?" he asked once he noticed I was standing next to him.

"No Dre, I'm not!" I said with tears in my eyes.

He pulled me into a hug.

"Aww Alley" he said while hugging me.

I can tell Dre has no sympathy for this baby at all. The only reason he's showing the little emotion that he is, is because he hates it when I cry.

"I don't want Kaden in an orphanage."

"I know Alley, but he can't stay here."

"Why not."

"He don't know us."

I pulled from his hug.

"Dre he's only like 9 months."

"Ten."

"Does it matter? He's just a baby."

"Alley you only 17 years old how you gone take care of a baby?"

"That's our brother." I said with more tears in my eyes.

"Stop crying." Dre said while looking annoyed.

"He don't deserve this."

"What you want me to do?"

"Get custody of him."

"NO! You know how I make my money, the cops gone be all in my bussiness and shit. I ont got time for that shit!"

"So you just gone leave him like that."

"Thats how she left us. 'Like that' " Dre said.

I rolled my eyes.

I understand where he coming from trust me I do. But thats our brother and I'm not giving up on him. Period!
