"FRUIT SALAD! Yummy! Yummy!" My mother and I belted as we left the arena and headed for the car at the end of the concert.
It had been the greatest night of my life so far. I had never felt so close to my mom as I did at that moment.
Suddenly the air was cold and there was a chill escaping from it and enshrouding me. I shivered, terrified, my mother saw that I was cold and lenses me her favorite jacket. I smiled brightly, realizing that it was just cold out side, my fear was gone. My mother squeezed my hand, but it wasn't a caressing squeeze. She had started to grow tense and frightened. I was afraid to look up and see the terror that was beginning to show through my mother. I looked around for what was terrifying my mother.
That when I saw them.
There were three of them. They all wore loose clothing and walked around like they owned the place. I realized why my mum was so scared at that moment. I began to freeze up, along with my mother, I was terrified.
Not wanting to look at them any more I made the choice of turning to my mother. Her face was tight, lip trembling, hands sweating, her eyes were glued on these men. I began to feel a chill, but this time it wasn't the weather. No the chill I felt this time was much, much worse. It shook me to my core and slowly and painfully began to suck the life out of me.
It was too much to handle. I folded on to my knees, hugged my mom telling her I would never let go, and tried to hold back the tears. I tried to stay stong, but life did not seem to care what I wanted at the moment. The men slowly began to head in our direction. As they neared us I saw that they were all holding something white and long. It released heat and it reminded me of a cigarette, but this was no cigarette. It released a smell that was disgusting yet intoxicating at the same time. I looked at my mom to ask her about it, but I saw that she already had her gaze fixed upon it herself.
The man in front of the other two began to put his hand in his pocket. He pulled a small metallic object out and pointed it at my mother. I didn't understand how an object so small could hold so much power, but then the man pulled the trigger. At that moment I realized that this was were it was all going to end.
