IN GRANDMA'S HOUSE...

IN GRANDMA'S HOUSE

In grandma's house there are long winding stairs

With big tall windows

And a cat with hair...

That's Marmalade Orange

Eyes, piercing blue,

A tail that swishes

Sometimes he hisses too...

Beside the stairs is the tall chiming clock

With the big smiley face

Which ticks and tocks

That wakes me up

When it goes -

BING BONG...!!

But under the stairs is a funny shaped door

It's not really square,

Round or arched

More sort of... triangled?

I'm not really sure.

Gran calls it 'the graveyard'

Mum calls it 'the pit'

But....

If I open the door

What if a monster prowls?

If I peep inside

Will it pounce or growl?

On the door of the cupboard that's under the stairs

Are words clearly written

'OPEN WITH CARE!!'

If I twist the handle

Marmalade's tail tip twitches

Inside, will I find

Ogres or witches

Or maybe

A wormhole spinning thro' space...

With Stars, Moons -

Martian and Rockets...?

I'll open it slowly

Just in case....

The door of the cupboard that's under the stairs

CRE-a-a-AKS really loudly

I'm not sure I dare...

But now I see a ball, a bat

A pan and a boat

Even a goat in a hat...

There's the tent

My Slime Dragon

Oozing gooey green gore

My sister's gold wings...

Snow White's outfit she wore...

Bicycle, soldiers, my teddy bear!

Weird glowing glitter
