I wonder through the amusement park, arm in arm with Kaito and Fubuki. We're all in jumpers since it's January and it's FREEZING but it felt as if we needed to come here this year. It's Matsumi Shizu's 16th birthday today; our friend, cousin and seen as sister turned a year older today. Since we all met again last year we decided to come to the places she enjoyed together. Beats taking on memory lane alone.
We head toward the ice cream shop to order Shizu's favourite flavour; caramel cookie crunch when a voice stops the three of us in our tracks.
"Oi! Yeah you three!" Is he drunk? No, it's only one in the afternoon. "Turn around." slowly we obey. Our eyes on the ground. I grip tighter on Fubuki's arm since he's the most likley one to react to this guy with voilence.
"You, Aoi don't have the right to be here today!" he accuses. I flinch. He has a vendetta against me and has for almost three years.
"Don't listen Aoi-chan." Kaito murmurs.
"What did you say?" the green haired boy snarls, striding toward us.
"Shit." I mutter in English.
"That was unladylike of you Aoi." Fubuki grins.
"Now's not the time!" Kaito squeaks. Fubuki puts his hands up in surrender, unfazed by the furious green haired boy storming toward the three of us.
"I said." the pinkish amethyst eyed boy growls, seizing my teal jumper by it's collar. "You don't have the right to be here." He raises me off the ground. I try to squirm, maybe kick something but he hasn't officially thrown the first punch yet.
"Put me down Yuma." I reply, voice smoother and cooler than I expected.
"You know what... I might just push you out in front of a careless driver's car... see how you like to bleed internally." he smirks menicingly.
"You don't have the balls to hurt her." Fubuki folds his arms.
"Like you haven't thought the same thing Fubuki, how easy it would be to make her suffer for not helping Shizu'!" Yuma retorts.
"Aoi-chan did help Shizu' you're just to blinded by your own self hate to see that." Kaito pipes up.
"Shut up Kaito, do you want me to teach you a lesson?" Yuma yells, dropping me on the floor and turning to the meek brunette. His chocolate brown eyes widen in horror. Yuma's lessons traumatised Kaito after Shizu' died. Fubuki dives to the ground to help me stand while the pale brown haired boy stands his ground against his childhood foe. Yuma's eyes show a glint of enthusiasm as he plucks up the leaner boy and slides his other beefy hand toward Kaito's larynx.
"Yuma!" Fubuki yells, trying to shove the bulkier boy away from his roommate.
"Why of all days do you have to start shit up again today! Why can we not just remember her in peace!" I shout, running alongside Fubuki, slamming into Yuma to try and get him to release his hold on Kaito. Well at least he moved this time.
"Yuma." a seductive voice drawls from a nearby woman. "Leave them be." she instructs.
My eyes widen as he obeys, putting Kaito down. He turns away however he stomps confrontationally in our direction. None of us flinch. When Yuma slings his arm around a woman in a navy blue crop jumper over a white vest top with bleached skinny jeans, navy converse and a white wollen hat we release a sigh of relief.
Who was that?
Why didn't she condemn him after trying to crush a kid's voice box?
Why did he stop?
Surely she couldn't be that controlling?
Why start a row when with a girl anyway?
I guess he's someone we'll never truly understand again.
