A/N: Next comes the fight of the century! Or... the week I suppose. Well then! I present to you the third chapter of 'Cutting the Cards' Written by BeautifulNarcissist . ♠️ vs. ✂️ Enjoy my squishies!

Ace jumped backwards, parrying the swing of the white haired boy's giant scissors with his own butterfly knife, before gaining some distance.

Ace: Just who the hell are you anyway?!

The boy's twisted smile widened, as he lifted up one of his hands and snapped his fingers... For seemingly no reason.

Scissorman: I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours, 66!

Ace narrowed his eyes. This would be a good moment to prod a bit further. His name was famous in Remnant, at least what he assumed to be his Remnant, so using it at this moment would either confirm or delay his fears.

Ace: I am known the Ace of Spades. And you...

Ace threw one of his arm free out, allowing a pair of poker cards to appear in it... Razor sharp cards.

Ace: Are clearly in my way...

The boy stared at him blankly, grin slipping off his face, and oddly morphing into... Innocent curiousity. It didn't look natural, what with his blood-soaked state.

Scissorman: Never heard of you. But you most certainly must've heard of me, for they call ME... the Scissorman!

It was Ace's turn to express confused curiosity. The Scissorman took notice of this, leading to one of his eyes twitching in what Ace easily analysed was frustration.

Ace: No, not heard of you either... Look, Scissorboy-

Scissorman: SCISSORMAN!

He yelled, stamping one of his feet. Ace raised an eyebrow and looked down (goddammit) at him in amusement, resisting the need to smirk malevolently.

Ace: Whatever. Look, I'm in an odd position right now... Not exactly from around here. So how's about you put the scissors down, and I consider NOT skewering you, alright kiddo?

Only now when he was out of the shadows did the two get a better look at one another. Ace looked him up and down in disgruntlement, taking note of the many burn scars, some on his bare knuckles, and one particularly larger, hand-shaped scar on the boy's face. The Scissorman did the same, but saw little difference between Ace and any other person he may have killed in the past.

A low giggle began in the back of his throat, which quickly evolved, becoming more and more maniacal with every passing second, before he lunged forth again. Ace was ready for the strike, activating his semblance, causing the giant scissor blade to pass right through his black, dusty body. Ace then appeared once more behind the Scissorman and kicked him in the back. The mad boy yelped in surprise as he tumbled forward, and turned to face Ace again, grin somehow wider.

Ace: Hmph... I have the advantage in here. Cramped store, with almost no room for dodging... My next strike will be fatal!

Ace charged forth, throwing his two poker cards at his enemy. Just as predicted, there was little to no room for dodging... But instead of trying to reflect the cards with Benevolence, the Scissorman lifted up one of his arms, taking both cards in the flesh. Ace smirked and became black dust once more, materialising in the position he needed to be in, in order to sink his butterfly knife right into Scissorman's heart. Since he had the advantage of surprise, he also managed to rip out the butterfly knife and slice at the Scissorman's hand, forcing him to drop Benevolence. The boy let out a pained gasp and back flipped away, landing on his feet. Ace stepped away as well, looking somewhat puzzled.
