My first shift went by ok.I had to get a few lessons from some of the former cashiers, but other than that I did well. I went back to my room with 50 dollars in my pocket which was fantastic. After dropping off $15 at the front desk to pay for my first week here, i went to the day care center to pick up Faith. We were going to go out today, she needed some fresh air.

After bundling her up in a small coat and hat, we set out, breathing in the nice crisp air. We were on our way to the grocery store to pick up some goods when I heard someone call my name. "Maria?" someone said. A someone that had a very recognizable voice. The same someone who happened to kick me out of her

house a few days ago.

I entered the store as she followed me, and grabbed my hand. "Hello mom," I said, removing my hand from her grasp and shooting her a cold glare. I shifted Faith onto my other hip as I pulled out a basket from the long line of them. "Maria, don't, don't be that way," she stuttered. "I'm your mother!"

I breathed in sharply and looked her dead in the eye. "My.Mother." I spat out. "The same mother that kicked her very own daughter out her house, forcing her to live somewhere else, without caring. The same mother that I really don't care to see at all right now. What do you want?"

My mom glared at me. "Don't you dare talk to me that way. No matter what I did, I am still your mother and will always be it. "

I rolled my eyes. "You're right mom. But just know, you will always be remembered as the one that kicked me and my poor baby out. So one day, when I'm crushing through life, you can suck on that." My mom stood there astonished, and I pushed my basket away from her and continued my shopping.
