Christine's POV
The following days in the studio were much more pleasant as me and John were pretty good and Stevie and Lindsey seemed to be talking again too. Monday had finally arrived and we were expecting some company. Mick seemed excited about meeting his old buddies from England. To be honest I would have loved some more British people around me.
I was smoking a cigarette while standing near the door and talking to John who was sitting on a sofa with his bass when a smokin' hot redhead rushed through a door. She stopped right in front of me. She was very lean, a little taller than me and I didn't consider myself short. She had beautiful deep forest green eyes and full lips. Her hair were armpit length and very straight. She was wearing jeans with black rocker boots and a black leather jacket over her white top.
"You must be all famous Nicks-chick." She spat out quite the arrogant way while eyeing me from my head to my toes. She had a thick British accent and I was shocked at the way she spoke. All famous Nicks-chick? What the hell was wrong with that girl? I had been much longer in the band than Stevie.
"Did you swallow your tongue or something?" She looked at me like I was nothing.
I still didn't answer, I must have been staring at her like an idiot. I noticed John looking at both of us from the couch.
"Did you swallow your tongue?" she asked sarcastically.
"No, I didn't swallow my tongue," I finally managed to open my mouth. I automatically turned on my bitchy side. "And I'm not Stevie Nicks." I rolled my eyes at her.
"So... you must be the other one."
"Excuse me?"
"Uhm, Thomas told me there were two chicks in Fleetwood Mac, so I guess you're the other one." The girl folded her arms across her chest while still eyeing me carefully.
Was she in Acker North? Mick didn't mention any girls. I thought I better play nice just in case, there was no need to put up a catfight that soon.
"I'm Christine McVie and you are?"
"I'm Catherine Acker, the lead singer of Acker North, but you can call me Cat." She gave me a little smirk. "So what do you do, what's your role, Chris?"
Chris? My first thought was to smack her, we weren't friends, she had no right to call me Chris.
"I play keyboards mostly but I also sing and write songs and don't call me Chris," I told her slightly annoyed.
"Okay then, Chrissy." She winked at me.
I felt my temperature rising and just as I was about to yell at her John opened his mouth.
"So, Catherine, are you single?" John turned to the redhead.
"What the fuck, John?" I exclaimed. Was he serious? We were just getting good and he started flirting right in front of me.
"Just kidding, love." John rolled his eyes at me while Cat rolled her eyes at John.
Catherine didn't answer to John's question instead she stepped closer to me. "Your boyfriend?" she asked while nudging her head towards John.
"My husband," I told her coldly.
The new girl stepped even closer and whispered in my ear. I could feel her lips touch my ear. "Well, I am single by the way." I was startled by her behaviour. She stepped back. "Well, I go and see where the others are. See you around, Christine." Cat gave me a bright smile as she hurried back out. That girl gave me weird emotions. She seemed like lots of trouble and she acted like a total bitch though there was something about her presence that made me question my existence.
