I sit on the couch with my knees pulled to my chest. I think over everything that happened this past week. My "Dad" died, we moved, and my Mom and brother were murdered. I sigh thinking over everything that happened, wondering if there was something more that I could have done. After a few hours of just sitting there, I finally drifted off to sleep.

Scenes from the past week flashed before my eyes, haunting even my dreams. I saw what I imagined my little brother to look like in his final hours, and my Mother, lying dead in the kitchen. I wake with a start, sweat dripping off of my body. I hastily jump up and run to the bathroom. I stare at my reflection, it seemed foreign to me. There, staring back at me, was a girl with stringy blonde hair, dark green eyes, and bags underneath her eyes. You could tell that her eyes were once a beautiful light green that would shine in the sunlight and would light up when she smiled. Now, her eyes were full of pain and attempt to hide any emotion. I look down from the mirror, ashamed of what I saw. I was no longer the girl who seemed to have it all, I was now the girl who had seemingly lost it all in one short week.

I turn on the faucet and cold water spews out of it. I cup my hands under the cold stream of water and bring it up to my face, attempting to wash off all of the pain and suffering. I jump when someone knocks on the door.

"Tiffany? Are you ok dear?" I recognize as May's voice.

"Yeah, I am fine." I say, secretly hoping that I will believe those words.

"Can I come in?" I open the door as my response.

"Oh, honey!" She says in response to my appearance. "What happened?" I sit down of the edge of the tub, and she follows. I decide that I can trust her, so I tell her my story, pausing a couple of times as she reaches out and grabs my hand in a motherly way.

"Oh, honey! You are more than welcome to stay here as long as you need." She pauses for a few moments. "Peter has an internship with Tony Stark, so maybe he can help you contact him."

"That would be great, I will have to ask him tomorrow." I smile internally, knowing that his "internship" was really him just being Spider-man.

"Well, you should probably head back to sleep, you need all of the rest you can get." She says while standing up. She rubs my shoulder a bit and starts to walk away. "Oh yeah, "She says turning around. "I am still shocked that I haven't seen you cry, you are a strong girl Tiffany, don't ever forget that." She turns back around and walks out of the bathroom. I head back to the couch and lay down, knowing that I won't be able to sleep. After a few moments of just lying there, I hear footsteps. Not loud, normal footsteps, but quiet, muffled ones. Footsteps that sound like somebody is trying to sneak in. I immediately stand up, on my guard.
