Thomas just stood there awkwardly whilst Newt was scalding him about going into the maze. Minho and I laid flat on the ground trying to regain some of our energy.

"What held you guys up last night? Why was T round your shoulder, unconscious?!" Newt barked.

Minho looked at me, expecting me to tell him what happened. I shook my head slightly at him. Mentally telling Minho not to tell him about my break down.
"It's not a big deal Newt, it was an accident." I lied. Newt could see right through my lie but ignored it. For now.

"There's going to be a meeting held in 5 minutes to talk about what happened and what we're going to do with you!" He pointed to Thomas who was still looking at the ground.

Trying to lift myself off the ground was a challenge and a half. My legs and chest burnt from the constant movement. It was easier for Minho as he was in better shape than I was. Minho held his hand out to help me up. Being my stubborn self, I ignored his help and got myself up.

"Common greenie lets get you to the council. T, you better go hit the showers and get some rest." I nodded and walked off. Leaving the boys behind me.

I walked into the shower stalls and turned the valve, only to have Cold water rush down my back. Washing the dirt off of my skin and hair felt quite nice. Especially just letting the water hit my face. After scrubbing myself off as much as possible, I grabbed a towel off the cubicle door and wrapped my self up. when i was all warm and wrapped up, I looked down at my shoulder to look at my daisies again. I like to think that they represent my real family that I had before I got stuck here.

Later that evening I was sitting by myself at dinner avoiding any eye contact with anyone. Whilst picking at my food I felt someone sit in front of me. "What d'you want?" I said, without looking up. "To know what really happened?"

I looked up to see Newt looking at me. I sighed and looked back down at my plate. "You know what happened."
"I thought as much. You sure you still want to be a runner again?"

"Well it's not like there's much else to do around here. Besides, being a runner is the only thing that will help me feel slightly human."

"Well you know what else might make you feel human?" I looked at him confused. "Thomas." He finally said.

I looked at him, raising an eyebrow. "What I being serious. I saw the way you smiled and looked at him at the bonfire. None of us have seen you smile like that in a long time." I didn't say anything. Not denying the fact that Thomas made me feel like fireworks were going off in the pit of my stomach.

"Look Newt. I know that ever since Hugh's death I've been extremely distance and dismissive of you all, but that's not going to change because of some boy I'm scared I have feelings for!" I stood up and turned round to see Thomas standing behind me, he looked hurt. The entire glade was silent and looking at me. Surprised by my sudden outburst.

I looked him in the eyes briefly and stormed off to my room. I slammed my door shut and sat on the end of my bed. Crying my heart out. Trying to be unheard from anyone else who may of been in the homestead.

Soon, I let sleep wash over me and I past out.

-Thomas' POV-
During the council meeting, I was due to be punished my sleeping in the pit for 2 nights. Bright side is, I can now be a runner. Yay. After spending most of the rest of my day with Minho who was explaining what being a runner is, we made our way to dinner.

I grabbed my plate and saw Newt and T talking with spare seat around them. I was about to sit when I heard what they were talking about.

"Look Newt. I know that ever since Hugh's death I've been extremely distance and dismissive of you all, but that's not going to change because of some boy I'm scared I have feelings for!" She yelled.

Hearing T's words hurt me. But I understood why she said what she said. When she walked away I sat in her place opposite Newt. "It was worth trying to get through to her." I said.

"Yeah I guess so. But the only thing is, we all hate how hurt she has become. She's our friend Tommy, and she used to be this bubbly, friendly, amazing girl." I listened to Newt as he told me what T used to be like and how it changed her.

"I think that I'll go and see her. See if she wants to talk." I said. By this point Minho and a couple of the others had sat down with Newt and I. "Yeah well good luck talking to her greenie. She's the toughest thing in here, she just can't keep up with it all the time." Ben laughed.

I handed my plate back to Fry and started to walk to T's room. Hers was in between: Newt's, Alby's and Minho's room, just so she could be away from any gladers who would get the wrong idea and try to get into her pants.

I found her room and put my ear to the door, only to head light breathing. She probably fell asleep.

Letting out a big sigh, I walked away and let her sleep. If I got a chance I would talk to her tomorrow and see if I could get through to her. I found Ably who was waiting for me by the pit.

I jumped in as Ably locked the door and said goodnight.

Sitting up against the wall just reminded me about the night that T fell asleep on my lap.
