it was your eyes
i was drawn to
the first time
we metthey were blue
but you wouldn't know that
without looking
at them up close
i guess that's
what made us
instantly intimateotherwise, they were
a subaqueous slate
like the hadal zone
(6,000m - 11,000m)
they were deep
and dark
and if you stared
long enough
you could see
their infinite details
like a continuous conveyer belt
of oceanic floor
existing in topographic
v-shaped depressionsand yet there was
more beyond
those aquatic depths
because i soon realised
that if you stared even closer yet
there was an even deeper
even darker
abyssal miasma
seeping through
the landscape
of your iris
and viscously sloshing
back and forth
like waves trapped
within the black confines
of your pupils;that aphotic
soul of yours
