CHAPTER 2
Twenty minutes later the doctor entered the room, carrying a file in his hands. Parker had stopped crying and Hardison was still comforting her. Eliot had his back against the wall, wondering what was taking the doctor so long. He couldn't help but wait impatiently. Sophie had immediately sprang from her chair when the doctor emerged looking solemn, worried that she wouldn't like the news.

"I ran his name through the computer..." Doctor Quinton showed no happiness or joyfulness as he had expressed the first time he came in. He handed the thick file to Eliot who was the closest. "...let's just say it's been a while since his last check up...I'll leave you to it...oh and no alcohol..."

Eliot nodded his thanks as the doctor left again. This was going to be tough, everyone thought. "What does it say?" Parker, Hardison, and Sophie all leaned over Eliot desperately trying to read the file. The file was thick, thicker than any other file he had ever seen.

"The last time he had a check up was when..." Eliot cleared his throat, it felt wrong that they were snooping through all of Nate's private stuff. He had quickly found the part where it said when the last time Nate had a check up. "...He was 10..." He didn't want to continue and he didn't have to.

"It wasn't even a check up..." Sophie took the file from Eliot, making Parker and Hardison lean over her shoulder to read what it said. "...I-It w-was...it was..." Sophie fought to regain her composure. "...abuse..." she mumbled.

They all looked over to Nate, who was still unconscious. Eliot cleared his threat figuring that his family didn't need any of this. "...Lets just go get the prescription..."
