I nearly fell out of my chair. We only had enough for one ticket! A tear rolled down my cheek as I righted myself. Who would stay behind? I sighed and called Rachel.
I have a feeling she had been sitting by the phone, because she picked up in a second. "Hey!" She said. I bit my lip. "Rachel, we only have enough for one ticket," I say, holding back tears. I can imagine her smile fading at that sentence. "Oh," she said, "Why are we going to do?". "I don't know," I reply.
"You should go," she said. My eyes opened wide. Was she serious? "Are you sure?" I ask. She probably nodded, since the sound was like a rattling. I giggled, then smiled. "Thank you!" I shouted. "You're welcome, now can you go to bed?" She asked. I looked at the clock.
Ph, its 12:30. I could have sworn it was 9- oh never mind. I was too excited to think about time. I hung up, tucked into bed, and stared at the ceiling until I closed my eyes.
--------2 weeks later--------
I dragged my suitcase behind me, glad it fit as carry-on along with my backpack. I walked through security to the gate for my flight. It felt early. I looked around until I saw a clock. I was two hours early! I face-palmed. "Looks like I'll be here for a while," I mutter.
I got breakfest, read three magazines, and checked my email before they called my flight. As I walked, I saw a group of people moving towards the gate. It looked like a flash mob of fangirls, but for whom? I tried to see inside the mob, but what sat in its core made me nearly faint.
Team Crafted was walking towards my gate.
This can't be happening, just, wow! I resisted the urge to run over to them, but it was hard. I just kept walking. I stood behind the mob, which soon dispersed when we reached the boarding area. My group was first, along with the group. I was screaming inside, but I kept my cool. I walked up, handed her my ticket, then tried my best to walk down the tunnel.
Two steps in, and I was running, glad that I wore sweatpants and a tanktop. My blond hair was tied up in a ponytail, and I was ready to fly. I found my seat, pulled out my laptop, and listened to the boring safety message. Team Crafted sat about five rows ahead of me, so it would be pointless to even try and get their attention. I sighed and just played on my laptop as the plane began its ascent.
