'I can't tell them about my magic. It's a secret, and mine to keep.' Star thought. He enchanted the map to look newer, and then he enchanted the map to show him where a dragon he was looking for was at that exact moment when he said, "Show me where ______________ is right now", and after he said the dragon's name. Then he enchanted the necklace to find anything he was looking for. He shivered, and growled to himself. "I'm going to go find her. I will find her, no matter where I have to go." Sea walked in, and said, "Hey Star, what are you doing?" "I'm going to go find Sunset." "So you're finally going to listen to me, huh?" "Yeah." "Are you taking anyone with you?" "No. I'm going alone."
"Can I come with you, just in case?" "No, Sea. I'm going alone." "All right. But you might need some backup!" "No. I'm going alone! I'm not changing my mind, and that's final! Now, please leave!" "Okay. By the way, I just made up a song about how I hate Tidepool and the Phantom Brotherhood. Want to hear it?" "Fine. But lplease leave afterwards." "Here goes."
"Tidepool is falling in,
falling in, falling in,
Tidepool is falling in,
into an abyss!Phantom Brotherhood's falling in,
falling in, falling in,
Phantom Brotherhood's falling in,
into the same abyss!""You like it?" "It's nice, Sea." "Thanks." Sea walked out, and once she disappeared down the hall, Star walked over to the window, and opened the window. He looked around once, and thought, 'See you soon, guys. Sunset, I'm coming.' Then he jumped out of the window, and flew towards the main entrance. The stairs appeared, and Star walked out as several dragons were walking in, two of them being Javelina and Current.
He didn't say anything, but instead just ran up the stairs just as they closed. He emerged in the wide world, which he hadn't seen for several months, and flew a couple of miles away before getting the map out and asking it to show him where Sunset was. The map showed a red dot labled 'Sunsetmaker' and Star noticed that it was near the border with the Ice Kingdom. He ordered the map to fold itself up, then he stuck it back in his bag that he had brought with him. He asked the necklace to lead him to Sunsetmaker, and it began to pull him to the north, where the Ice Kingdom was, and Sunset. After many days of traveling, he finally reached the border of the Ice Kingdom.
It was pretty cold up here, and he wouldn't be able to get over the Ice Wall. Soon, he saw a dark gray dragon flying towards him over the Wall, but apparently the thing noticed that she wasn't an IceWing, and started shooting icicle spears at her. The dragon dodged every one of them, which seemed to come from all directions, and landed next to where he was hiding, and hoping not to get shot at. "Sunset, I'm here." he whispered. "Star, you big stubborn idiot-head. Why'd you come back?" "Because that's what big brothers are for." "Haha. Well, ready to go home?" "Sure!" They got ready to go, and then Star heard a voice from behind them shout, "Hey You! STOP!!!"
"Let's go!" Sunset shouted, looking back and hissing. They jumped into the sky, and flew for all they were worth, somehow managing to lose the oncoming dragons after several minutes. They flew back to the HUC's headquarters, and walked in. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN???!!!" a familiar dragon roared, flying up to them, the dragon's venom scarred throat twitching angrily as the dragon breathed.
"Dolphin, cool it." growled a second dragon, who Starsand recognized as Aryn. "Aryn... They've been missing for two hours. TWO HOURS!!! And you're telling me not to worry! Says the dragon who worries about one day meeting up with their terribly wonderfully non abusive parents!" Aryn's face twitched, but she growled, "Dolphin!" When the scarred SeaWing continued to rant, she said it a little louder. "Dolphin!" The SeaWing was still ranting, and she roared it at the top of her lungs. "DOLPHIN!!!" That shut him up. Dolphin snapped his jaws shut, and stared at the NightWing IceWing hybrid.
Aryn stared right back at him, unblinking, and hissed, "Cool. It. Right. Now. See? I can be authoriative when I want to be. But don't you ever mention my-my parents around me. Do you understand?" "Umm?" With a hiss, Aryn pinned Dolphin to the floor with her talon on his throat and hissed, "Do. You. Understand?" "Y-yes, Aryn. I-I understand." "Good. Now, take the little one back to the room. I need to talk with Starsand." "Yeah, but she's my sister! We stay together!" "It's only for a little while. Dolphin, do as you are ordered, you ignorant Squid-brain!" Dolphin bowed, and said, "Yes, Aryn." Then he led Sunsetmaker into the crowd and disappeared.
Aryn turned away from him, and said, "Starsand, walk with me." "Um, Aryn? Can you just call me Star?" "No. I'm required to call any dragon I associate with by their full name." Star noticed that Aryn was lightly touching the right side of her face. He look closer, and noticed that silver droplets seemed to be rolling down the hybrid's snout. Then Star realized that Aryn was crying. He heard Aryn growl softly, and start muttering something to herself, hunching her wings over her back and casting a shadow over her face.
"Aryn? Are you o-okay?" Starsand asked, moving closer to the hybrid. "I'm fine." Aryn growled, lifting her snout towards the moons so that it illuminated her face. "Three moons. W-what happened to your fa-" "Shut it, Starsand. I don't want to talk about that." Aryn hissed, standing up and facing him, the moonlight illuminating the right side of her face, which was horribly scarred. "Um, so what did you want to talk to me about, Aryn?" "I wanted to talk to you for a few minutes, about..." Aryn sighed, and breathed deeply. "I wanted to talk to you about your mother."
