Tris' POV
I knew it. I just knew it. I honestly didn't really expect him to be the son of Jeanine Matthews, but I just knew he wasn't Tobias' brother. They look nothing alike. Derek doesn't even look like Evelyn or Marcus. I didn't mention it because I thought 'hey I might be wrong.' Obviously not.
"So your doing this to-" but he cuts me off.
"Get revenge on you two for what you did to my mother. Yes" he says.
"What did I do to your mother?" I ask.
"You stopped her from successfuly fulfilling a great plan to control the city, but ofcourse you had to stop her."
"I had to stop her because she was murdering inoccent people" I say.
"Inoccent? Ha right. They weren't inoccent. You weren't very inoccent either. I mean if you would have died think of the lives that could of been saved. Perhaps I don't know Will for example" he says.
My breath hitches in my throat. I thought I would never have to hear about that again. I have finally gotten used to holding a gun and now look. He's made me weak again. I won't let that happen though. He keeps talking.
"Think about it. His poor inoccent eyes when you shot him. How his body slumped over to the ground. Not even a chance to think before getting shot. All. Because. Of. You" he says.
That's it I can't take it anymore. I lunge towards him and knock his gun out of his hands. I flip him around to where his back is against my chest and I pull a knife out of my back pocket and hold it up against his neck.
"Now I won't repeat myself. Where is Tobias?" I ask.
"Like I'll ever tell you."
I slowly dig the.knife into his throat and he winces. I stop before I could do any damage because I need to find Tobias. I whisper harshly in his ear and frankly with how I sounded I would be scared too.
"Tell. Me. Where. He. Is. Now."
I dig the knife in a little further.
"FINE FINE FINE" he screams. "I'll tell you. He's in the old abandoned factionless building. There's a basement there. Go down and go through the hallway and go into the 10th door on your right" he finishes.
"Thanks for the information" I say. "Now that you have told me I won't need you anymore."
Then I do something I never thought I could do. I snap his neck and he slumps to the floor dead. Wow. I didn't know I could be that harsh. I just got so angry with him that I couldn't take take him anymore. I take one last look at his body and take off on a run.
I get to the abandoned building and walk in. It's pitch black, but luckily I brought a flashlight. I pull it out and turn it on. I flash the beam of light in every direction and finally find stairs that lead down to a basement. I go down them quietly not knowing what to expect.
Water leaks from a pipe dripping to the ground making the only sound along with my footsteps. I count the doors on my right. One, two, three, four, five. Once I reach the fifth door someone jumps out at me.
They punch me in the throat and I struggle to breathe. I regain my breath and kick them in the ribs and punch them in the face. I grab my flashlight and pull it up to see who it is but all I see is a random factionless person. They knock the flashlight out of my hands and it rolls across the floor.
I know that it's a man now so I have an advantage. He grabs me by the hair and yanks me to the side and I end up hitting my head on the wall. I bring my foot back and kick him where the sun doesn't shine. Before he can let our a scream I stab him with my knife.
He slips to the ground without a sound. God this is going to haunt me forever. I keep going down the hallway and I get to the tenth door. I take a deep breath and tell myself to get ready for whatever is behind that door.
I open it up and what I see brings me to tears.
Cliffhanger. Haha. I am really getting into this story and I know that I want this to be two seperate books but I don't want to actually make two seperate things so when I'm done with what I want the first book to be I will later put part two in the book and just right my second story there probably. I don't know I'm still deciding.
