Tris' POV
Tobias died yesterday. His heart monitor went out and the docotors rushed in. By the time they tried to revive him it was to late. I don't even know what to do now.
I wonder the halls in search of something, but I don't know what. Oh ya. My apartment. When I reach it I unlock the door and go inside. I walk through the rooms to our- I mean my bedroom. It's not his anymore.
When I get into the room I go over to the bed and lay down on his side. I put my face into his pillow and take a deep breath. It smells just like him. My favorite scent.
I start to cry slowly. It goes from slowly to loudly. I hear someone open my door and come into to my bedroom. I instantly freeze not knowing who it is. They come over and sit on the bed next to me.
I look up and see Christina. I put my face back into the pillow not caring.
"Tris" she says. "Are you okay?"
"DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'M OKAY CHRISTINA? MY BOYFRIEND JUST DIED AND YOUR ASKING IF I'M OKAY? JUST GO AWAY" I shout.
"Tris I know how it feels" she says.
"No you don't" I say while sitting up. "No one does."
"I KNOW ENOUGH" she yells at me. "HOW DO YOU THINK I FELT WHEN WILL DIED? DID YOU THINK I JUST GOT HAPPY AND FROLICKED INTO A FEILD OF MAGICAL UNICORNS AND RAINBOWS? NO. AND HOW DO YOU THINK URIAH FELT WHEN MARLENE DIED? OR WHEN LYNN DIED? YOUR NOT THE ONLY ONE SUFFERING TRIS."
With that she walks out of the room slamming the door. I get up but once I do I start crying again. I sit back down and fall into a dreamless sleep.
~TIME LAPSE~
When I wake up again I look over at the clock and see it's time for dinner. I get up and head down to the dining hall. When I walk in people stare at me and I keep my head down. When I sit down at my usual table I see Uriah, Zeke, and Shauna.
Christina must still be mad.
"Hey Tris" Uriah says.
They also know that Tobias is dead.
"Hey" I say back in a voice that doesn't sound like mine.
We all eat our food in silence. And I get it. Zeke was Tobias' best friend and so was Shauna when they met in initiation, and they've been friends ever since. Uriah knew Tobias through Zeke, but he was still his best friend.
After a while I can't stand it so I get up throw my food away and start to walk back to the apartment. A little while later I realize I'm in a hallway I don't recognize. Great I'm lost I think to myself.
Turning back around to go the way I came I hear footsteps. And not just mine. I go to grab my knife out of my boot, but then realize that I forgot it. Shit. The footsteps get closer and I start walking faster. Soon enough I'm running.
I turn down a hallway the person still chasing me, but when I get to the end I realize it's a dead end.
"Tris stop" I hear the voice say.
I'm curious to know who it is so I turn around slowly, but once I see who it is I fall back and then all I see is darkness.
Sorry I haven't updated a while I'm just really stressed out. I literally have time for nothing. Not even friends. I have soccer practice every day then a tournament every weekend, and I have soccer camp all this week. This weekend is the only time I'm free for the rest of the summer to actually do something. I also have tryouts pretty soon and I'm afraid I won't make it even though I have been playing for about six years now. I'll try to update this weekend or maybe tonight. It depends I'm really tired cause I just had a four hour soccer practice. Uggg I just wanna sleep Well anyways bye.
