~3rd POV~
Life went on. Everything was back to normal. Except for the fact that our dear Fushimi has started putting some distance between himself and Fuyuki.
She was a little hurt by this, but she knew this was for the best. After all, all those she truly cared about died meaningless deaths.
Everyone else noticed this gap too, so they tried their best to bring they back together. Why? Because everyone knew they like each other but they will never admit it.
Fushimi wouldn't let just anyone get close to him unless he wanted to. Fuyuki knew this too, that's why she has to protect him she thought.
Intrigued by this development, Munakata would pair them up for jobs and deliberately ask them what they thought of the other.
They sat alone, separate from each other. Fuyuki asked Akiyama to train her instead. Fushimi started doing overtime alone again.
The only time they ever communicated was during work hours about work.
Their efforts were futile as the only mutual feeling and thought they had was keeping their distance.
~Fuyuki's POV~
Day 50, the first day I planned on killing Reisi Munakata. After reporting my progress to Father last night, he ordered me to kill tonight since he was growing quite impatient.
He mentioned my deadly ordeal just in case I was having second thoughts. I was once again reminded of my position in this world.
Luckily the Scepter 4 members were planning a little party together again, without Munakata, Awashima and maybe Saruhiko.
"Hey Mizuna! You're coming for tonight's party right?" Hidaka chimed. "Shout any louder and the Lieutenant's gonna hear you and invite Captain too."
"Crap. Sorry. So are you coming?" He asked again in a quieter voice. "I'm not feeling too well this week, especially with my monthly thing going on." I explained with a disappointed face.
"What monthly thing?" He asked. I just looked at him dead straight into his eyes with a blank expression. "Ohhhh... right. Sorry for asking." He apologised.
Again, I was paired up with Saruhiko for a job outside the building with Munakata's reason being the client involved requested for me and him specifically.
"Tsk, since when do we take up requests like this?" Saruhiko muttered under his breath. "Do you have a problem with that, Fushimi-kun?" Munakata heard and replied him.
"No." With that, we set off to the clients home to finish some overdue paperwork. The whole way there was painfully silent. Hell, we didn't even look at each other.
The client was happy to see us but even she knew there was something going on with the both of us. "Mizuna-chan, are thing going ok with your boyfriend?"
"Haha he isn't my boyfriend... we're just colleagues at work." I reasoned. "Heh~ you two were so close I thought you were a couple!" She commented while looking disappointed.
Well sorry I can't fulfil your fantasy!
After that we headed back to HQ, and did our own work. Since parties isn't his thing I have to watch out for him later tonight.
I waited until the guys are passed out from partying to carry out my plan.
After hacking into the CCTV surveillance cameras around the building, I made sure no one was up and around Captain's quarters.
I equipped myself with my killing tools and work outfit and sneaked into Munakata's room through to window without making a single sound.
I can finally stop playing this make-believe friend game.
As I approached his bedside, I prepared my blades which I planned to use to slice in neck open with.
I could imagine the blood trickling down my blade and onto my hands. The smell of blood floating in the air. The lifeless body in front of me.
It's just another job.
However, I felt something was amiss. To get rid of that feeling, I had to make sure he was asleep in the first place.
I'll make it as painless as possible...
I was about to insert one of my needles into his nape when someone came in.
Who the fuck???
"Captain, it's time."
I don't know who the fuck that was but I was pissed as hell that I had to hide under Munakata's bed and stop myself from murdering him.
The Captain then woke up, sat up, wore his specs and went out and followed the individual out. From the sound of it, my guess was that it was Akiyama.
*PDA vibrates* The fuck?
I couldn't answer it until Munakata was out of sight and out of mind. After I exited his extremely neat and tidy room without leaving a trace of myself, I head up to the rooftop.
Hmm? Kamo? What the hell does he need this late at night?

"Mizuna-san, if you see this message within 10 minutes please report to the this area. And make sure not to let anyone else know.

-Kamo"My assassination... was interrupted... because of this...?
After giving up my attempt on Munakata's life for tonight, I head back to my dorm and dressed like I just got out of bed.
When I went to the area, every single member of Scepter 4's special unit was present, except for Saruhiko.
"Ah Mizuna-kun, glad you could make it to this meeting." Munakata-san greeted me. "What's this about? You interrupted my game." I replied in a slightly pissed off manner.
"Right. Today happens to be Fushimi-kun's birthday, and I want us to celebrate this very special day." Munakata-san answered me.
"Yes, that's why we want to plan surprise party for Fushimi-kun later today." Awashima-san added.
"Then why did you inform me too?" I asked. "Aren't you the closest one to Fushimi-san?" Enomoto-san asked back. "Not anymore." I replied without hesitation.
"Then it's decided. Mizuna-kun shall be the star of today's celebration." "Captain?? Did you not hear a single word I said?." "I did. And based on it, I decided as such." Munakata-san explained as his spectacles glinted.
"I bet I'm the last person he wants to see though..." I whispered to myself.
