So today is the day. The day I see my mom for the first time in a month, and the day I meet the reasons why she hasn't been with me and Shari.
I packed all my stuff last night and put them back in my house. The only thing left is my bed.
I'm sitting in my room on the floor FaceTiming Alexia.
"Do you miss me?" I ask her smirking. She looks at me and rolls her eyes playfully.
"Not at all." She says smiling innocently.
"Ouch" I say acting hurt. She smiles lightly then I hear the doorbell ring.
"Hey I gotta go, wish me luck" I say to Alexia as I stand up.
"Good luck, and be nice to them" She says.
"No promises" I say
"Kev!" She says sternly.
"K fine" I say.
"I love you" I add.
"I love you too." She says.
I then hang up the phone and go downstairs.
I look at myself and fix my shirt.
"Don't wanna look like a bum in front of my mom. Aye that rhymes! Like curly fries!" I say to myself. I crack myself up.
I open the door to reveal my mom.
"My-" She says but I cut her off by attacking her with a bear hug.
She dropped whatever she had in her hands and hugged me back. I hear her sniffling, then I feel something run down my face.
"Am I crying?" I ask her. She moves her head, and looks at me.
"Yes, but it's ok. I am too" She says. She brings her hand up to my face and holds my cheek. She wipes my face with her thumb.
"I'm sorry for leaving you. I don't know what I was thinking. I don't even have an excuse. I just up and left. It didn't even hit me how bad that was until 2 weeks ago." She says to me.
"Why didn't you come back then?" I ask her.
"Because I met them." She says moving out of the way, and I see a boy about my age and a man.
"This is Zion and his father Leon. Guys this is my son Kevin" My mom says.
