Waking up in a hospital isn't as surprising as you would think it is. I woke up, knowing exactly where I was and why I was there. It looked exactly how a hospital would look, white walls, beeping machines keeping my heart rate, and multiple buttons and switches for multiple uses. The only thing that wasn't supposed to be in a hospital was the group of five sitting and watching me intently in the corner. When they saw that I had woken up, their faces brightened and a smile broke out on their face.
"You're awake!"
Pidge yelled, obviously not caring about the shushes and glares coming from the doctors and nurses. She ran over to hug me but stopped short, probably remembering something bad.
"Keith..."
I was startled. How did they know my name, I hadn't told anyone and only my teachers knew. Who could've told them?
"The doctor told us that you had serious burn marks and cuts and injuries all across your body. He said that it was a miracle you've survived this long."
All I could do was nod, looking down.
"Keith, you said earlier that the people who attacked us were your parents, right?"
Lance asked, looking towards me.
"Do they... do they hurt you?"
The other people in the room didn't look shocked, as if they all were thinking the same thing. I sighed, knowing that these people would not let this go.
"Yes... my family abuses me. Are you happy now? I usually try not to think about it and now..."
I could feel myself starting to break down, eyes tearing up.
"Now I'm thinking about it"
I felt a pair of arms go around me, then two, soon enough everyone had their arms wrapped around me, pulling me into a huge hug. I winced, feeling a sharp pain in my stomach, and the others backed off.
"What did the doctors do to me?"
I asked, seriously concerned.
"You went through multiple surges because of some fractured organs and a few skin transplants because the burns were too bad. You probably are sore all over and feel like all hell has broken loose in your head, but bear through it, please."
Pidge explained, pointing to a few doctors and nurses while looking at my medical chart. I nodded, now knowing why my head felt like splitting in two and why I couldn't move without feeling pain. Everyone, now including me, started talking about stories and what was happening in their lives. I mainly stayed quiet because I wasn't used to so much social behavior, but I was able to follow along and understand what the others were talking about. That night, my newly found friends left when one of the nurses came in saying that the visiting hours were over. I noticed that lance had left his phone and called the front desk.
"Hello? Someone who was visiting me forgot their phone, can I come down and give it to them?"
The front desk agreed only if I could walk and if I wasn't in intensive care, which I wasn't in. I was able to stand up after a couple of tries, and headed down the hallway to to main lobby where I saw lance, Shiro, Allura, Pidge, and Hunk all gathered around, talking very loudly.
"That was too easy!"
Shiro cried out,
"The kid was so gullible, he probably wanted attention just as much as everyone else!"
Allura agreed, laughing out loud and snorting.
"The poor kid, I kinda feel bad for him... NOT!"
Lance called out
"Guys, I don't want to do this."
Pidge said, Hunk nodding his head in a agreeing gesture.
"I really like Keith and i don't want to play games with him and then break his heart."
Pidge continued, looking solemn and regretful.
"The poor kid has already gone through so much, it doesn't seem humane to continue doing this."
Hunk said, also looking like he really meant what he said.
"That loser needs only pain and will only get pain. I don't think I should give any of my previous attention towards a cripple who doesn't talk and is a nobody."
"BUT HE DID TALK!"
Pidge yelled back
"He talked to us and only us! Proving that he trusts us and likes us! Doesn't that mean anything to you jerks?!"
Lance tapped his pockets, now noticing that his phone was gone.
"Guys, I think I lost my phon..."
That's when he noticed me. His skin went pale and his eyes bulged out of his head. The others followed his gaze and saw me, standing in the hallway, clutching lances phone, tears falling from my eyes. I threw the phone to the ground and stomped back to my room, not ever wanting to see their faces ever again, well, maybe Pidge and Hunk, but never lance, Shiro, and Allura. They could all go die for all I care. I should just die for all I care. The thought wasn't in my head longer then a second but when it happened, I looked around my room. I found a surgical knife that they irresponsibly left on a table. I took the knife and slicked my wrist, noting how easily the knife went through my skin and brought out blood. It let me forget all my troubles for just a second, just before they all came back, hitting me like a bus. I sliced my wrist three more times before putting the knife back in the table. I didn't even wrap my wrist up, I just went to my bed, covered myself with the blanket, and fell asleep to the sound of me crying and the red blood oozing out of my wrist. I'll never forgive them.

Yo! Author here! I just wanted to say that this is just a fan fiction and has never happened to me or someone I love. This chapter is shorter because I'm kinda having a writers block here and had no clue what to do for this chapter. Things will probably get better from here on out (except for a few exceptions😙) and there will be fluff. There is going to be some shipping, mainly Klance, because their my OTP and I totally ship them. Idk why I made lance say mean things, I just felt that Pidge and Hunk were too nice to say anything mean so i just chose them to be the nice ones and don't deceive Keith. I might not update so often because I have the FSA coming up and I need to study and actually sleep, so sorry about that. I also have other works in progress so the quality of my stories might decrease as well, so don't blame me. See you next update!
