DANI'S POV

Why? I said in my mind. "Leave her alone Lance." Taylor said, dead serious. Lance laughed. "And if I don't?" he slurred. He was obviously drunk and when you're drunk, you're dumb as fuck so that explains why he left me home alone where I could just escape. "I might just murder your ass." Taylor said. "Stop it you two!" I shouted. Lance stepped up in Taylor's face. "What you gonna do? You're just a little pretty boy." Lance smirked.

Before I knew it, they were outside, screaming in each other's faces. "I'm taking her with me, Caniff! Or else it's your gang, the only other people who care about you." he taunted. Lance came closer to me when I heard my mother's voice.

"Lance, don't you touch my daughter!" She screamed. "I thought this is what you wanted? For me to take her?" he slurred. "That was her dad." she held a gun up. "Touch, get an inch closer to her and I'll kill you." she yelled.

He stepped a little closer to me. "I'm warning you, Lance." She shouted. Through all of this she kept giving Taylor signs to grab me and run home. Taylor threw me over his shoulder and ran home. We heard a scream and then a gun shot. "Turn around!" I shouted at Taylor. "Why? It's too dangerous." he explained. "What if that was my mom!" I yelled. He just kept running until we reached the house and he set me down. He looked down at me.

I looked back up at him. He leaned in and we kissed. His kiss was just filled with love. I pulled back. "I lied." I said. "What do you mean?" he pulled me closer. "Lance and I aren't dating."

"Why'd you tell me that then?" he asked. "Because if I didn't he would hurt you." I explained. He hugged me. "I love you so much. I promise I'll always protect you. I missed you so much." he kissed me on my nose. "I love you too." I said.
