From Hayley's point of view.
I sat down on my bed, reflecting over the past few days. The whole time at the Academy, really. Everything with Leo, and then Daniel...
I sighed in frustration at the thought of both of them. Right before I had left, they both dropped a bomb on me. Actually, together they saved me from one.
After thinking about it for a minute, I decided.
I stepped in front of my mirror, and held up a white dress and a blue one against me before deciding on the white one. After I changed, I grabbed out my Louie.
"Feel like dropping by?" I typed on it, then closed it.
I got no response. I waited, but there was no reply. I paced back and forth across my floor.
A half an hour later, I heard the doorbell ring. My heart raced faster. After a minute, I heard a knock on my bedroom door.
I opened it and smiled. "Daniel."
"Hayley." He said. "Can I come in?
I motioned for him to step inside. I closed the door behind him.
He turned to face me. "Look, Hayley. I'm sorry if I pressured yo-"
Before he could finish his sentence, I kissed him, silencing him. I could feel his lips turn into a smile. He wrapped his arms around me.
He pulled away from me. "You drive me insane, Hayley Woods. Sometimes I can't even stand you to be around you. But... it's worse when you're not with me."
I wrapped my arms around him, burying my head into his shoulder. "Thank you for coming."
"I didn't know you wanted me here."
"I don't just want you here. I need you here, Daniel."
"You're not gonna start saying we were meant to be, are you?" He laughed, but wasn't entirely joking.
"No. I don't even know if that's true."
I sat down on the window seat, pulling my knees up and leaning against the window. Daniel did the same and I entwined my hand with his. We sat across from each other like that for who knows how long. We talked a little, but I mostly enjoyed having his company.
A couple hours later, I started to nod off. Daniel noticed. "Hey. I should go. I need to get back to the Greenhouse, anyway." He yawned.
"We have a guest bedroom, if you're tired. The Greenhouse is kind of far."
"No. I wouldn't want to intrude. You just got your mom back. You don't need me interfering with your family."
"They'll be fine, Daniel. If you need to stay, you're welcome."
"I guess."
I smiled. "It's right next door. Blankets are in the closet."
He rested his hand on the wall. "Thanks." He leaned down and kissed me on the forehead. "Goodnight, Hayley."
As much as I wanted him to stay, I knew it was for the better that he go to his own room.
I undressed and climbed into bed. I smiled, no longer exasperated by earlier. My mom was back, my family was back to normal, I had good friends, and Daniel. I drifted off to a dreamless sleep quickly, feeling happier than I had in a while.
