1 Year and 215 Days Ago
Veronica's room had a smell of perfume and cigarettes. Veronica entered her room from the left to see her friend sitting on her bed, silently admiring the room's personality. Veronica had a hold of a small blunt and dark, sea salt chocolate. She set down the drug on her dresser and tossed the chocolate to Dabria, a girl her age who went to the same school as her.
She was shy and petite, with light black hair and grey-green almond-shaped eyes. She smiled with softness at Veronica as she jumped onto the bed.
Dabria giggled as the whole bed bounced under Veronica's force.
The bed settled, as did Veronica who now sat in front of Dabria with her legs crossed, tightening her jeans who hugged her thighs. They looked into each others eyes. Dabria's were somehow twinkling, staring deep into Veronica's.
After maybe a minute, they both laughed together at their silliness and their hands slowly met. With their fingers interlocking they stared into each other even more deeply now. They both seemed to be leaning forward slightly.
Veronica looked up to Dabria. She was everything Veronica wanted to be as a girl. Smart, pretty, kind, sensitive and even a little brave. Everyone seemed to find Veronica scary, she was intimidating but she was kind hearted and loving.
She didn't realize that Dabria had just pecked her lips. Dabria was abashed, thinking she did something wrong, wondering if maybe she just ruined their blossoming friendship. Her cheeks grew red as roses while she gulped a liter of saliva.
"Woah," Veronica whispered. Her eyelashes flickered like lights, she was in complete and utter shock. Her crush just kissed her!
"Sorry," Dabria said, retracting her hands and looking away.
"No. No-It's okay!" Veronica caught Dabria's hands and gripped them tightly.
"Really?" Dabria asked.
"Yes," Veronica replied with the most love she ever felt.
Slower than a turtle, Veronica leaned in for another kiss and Dabria complied, fulfilling Veronica's wants. The kiss became more and more heated as Veronica nearly fell on top of Dabria.
They gasped for air leaving each others lips, and both laughed with ecstasy. Tears rolled down both their faces from happiness and sadness, then they found themselves crying with one another. Dabria sat up as they embraced with tight holds. Veronica's face was squished with all the pain in the world but her best friend was there with her.
And that felt amazing.
"Can it always be like this?" Dabria finally said, breaking the sad silence.
Veronica paused.
"Yes," she whispered, "yes it can."
