Chapter 4

When I walked in the door dad was up in the living room and I slipped off my shoes.

As I turned around he pushed me up against the wall and smiled. I gulped and the terror that I had been trying to hide was starting to form again.

I was trying to be brave but my senses gave in as he kneed me in the stomach and then slapped me.

"What did I do?" I asked weepingly.

"You didn't do anything. Your so called mother is next door playing cards while I'm stuck here. I hate being bored." Dad said while breathing his beer breath in my face.

As he started to lean towards me the door handle twisted and mom came in. He mask was back up as she slipped off her shoes.

Dad grabbed her wrist and pushed her up the stairs as she took one look at me and gulped and whisperd "GO TO BED IMMEDITELY." I nodded and waited for there bedroom door to shut.

I silently climbed the stairs and peeked in David's bedroom and he was asleep already with his scooby night lamp on beside him. I smiled and closed the door and ran to my room and shut the door.

As I walked in my window to my balcony was open. I was getting ready to scream when a hand covered my mouth as they turned on my bedroom light.

I peeked up at Brayden as he smiled. He let go of my mouth as my lips turned upwards in to a smile. It was a rare one but I still didn't understand what he was doing here.

I then thought back his weird comment: "I'll see you later"

"So...um you break in houses easily?" I whisper asked him.

His smile got bigger but dropped instantly. I nibbled on my lip, well this was a little bit awkaward. I've never had a boy, let alone a very handsome boy at that, in my bedroom before.

"Um well I think this new school is going to prove to be difficult, some what. I'm usually a loner and I don't think hanging out with you will do me any good." I said.

"Why? I'm not really that popular. I'm usually a loner too." He replied.

"Girlfriend doesn't seem to get it." I said offhandely.

His face turned to a hard mask and I instantly regretted it and kind of backed away before he started hitting me. I gulped.

His face instantly softened.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you." He said sincerely.

I smiled but still kept my distance. "Could I change in my night clothes with you out of the room?" I asked him.

Why did I feel so safe with him all of a sudden. I barely knew the kid.

He smiled micheviously but turned around and put his hands over his eyes. I grabbed my clothes and put my night shirt over my head while taking off my other shirt. I was taking precation's just in case he decided to peek.

I slipped off my pants really quick only to fall over and accidentally bump in to him.

Sorry its so short but I actually wanted it this way because the next chapter is going to be super long to make up for this one. I hope your enjoying this story! :D
