When I arrived home I seen David close his window curtain and threw the door open and ran straight into my arms.
He had tears streaming down his face with a very recent hand print on his right arm and I noticed his lip was tore open.
That sick old man put his hands on David again, I couldn't be here at all for David anymore. I felt like I was going to be sick because once again I failed in my vow to protect my little brother.
"Shhh....it'll be okay....it'll be okay.....I promise you'll be by my side tonight. I won't let him touch you again. I promise, David." I told him with tears brimming my eyes.
"Well I see that you two made it home okay...so Brittany you're staying home with me, while David here goes and get his boxing lessons."
"Actually sir, I'm letting her come too, I don't want her here, I want to train Brittany too."
My dad just laughed and shook his head and started towards me.
"Brittany and David get in my car now." Brayden yells before he tackles my dad to the ground.
"Nooo Brayden, stop he'll hurt you!" I scream, not even trying to get away from my dad.
"Get. In. The. Car.NOW!" Brayden yelled while gritting his teeth trying to hold my dad off. I did as Brayden told me too but I was bawling because I was so scared of my dad hitting Brayden and hurting him.
As I got in the car Dad threw Brayden off of him and said
"Boy if you were mine, I would've...."
That's all I heard because Dad started mumbling then towards his parents house. All of this was happening way too fast.
Dad had just got his new job and if he told his parents then all hell would break loose then we might have to move again. I couldn't move away, not when I think I made a friend.
"It'll be okay sissy." David says.
Brayden hops in the car and spins off the road and takes to the road with more anger in him than the two days I've seen him.
"That-that man needs someone to knock some since in to him. You don't hit children. No offense...little man."
"His name is David." I said.
"Well David, I want you to promise something." Brayden says as he hits the brakes forcefully.
I have to move my hands forward to catch myself as Brayden's arm goes in front of my waist to stop me from moving.
He looks back at David and says "Sorry. I usually don't drive like a crazy person but promise me if I teach you how to fight when you grow up and become a man don't hit women like your dad?"
"I won't I promise, hitting them is wrong. They don't look pretty when they have nasty spots on them." David said looking at my wrist.
The honk came behind us and Brayden put the car in drive and sped off the line with smoke lingering behind us.
Soon we're pulling in to gym but instead of going the way we went today, Brayden took my hand and took us beneath the gym where the locker's were and we put our stuff then we went back out and it was full of people that weren't there a few seconds ago.
The gym had a cage in the middle of it and next to me Brayden's eyes lit up, brightening from there normal dark grey eyes to a silver color.
He looked at me and smiled his breathtaking smile, he still hadn't let go of my hand but he did have red tape in his hand along with white tape.
