I lied on my bed, head hanging off to the side of it, pondering in deep thought. It's been a half hour since school ended and I haven't seen Jason since lunch. Even though I usually have last period Chemistry with him, he didn't show up to class. He was supposed to ride us home today but when I went to the student's parking lot where he parked, his vehicle was long gone.
He's mad at me and I know it. I've tried calling him since school was dismissed but he ignored all my calls until he eventually switched off his phone.
Did I really do anything wrong though? Does he even have a right to be mad? We're not even together. Yeah, we shared a couple kisses. But so what? That does not give him the right to be mad at me for telling Dante that I'll hang out with him later today. It's not like I agreed to marry the guy. Jason is being childish.
But, it all just showed that he actually cared. I may sound stupid, but for some reason, I kinda enjoyed seeing him in the possessive-jealous mood.
Gosh, Naomi. Get it together.
"Don't worry babe. He won't be mad at you for long." Jasmine spoke up from across the room where my desk and chair were located. She was currently rubbing her slightly visible baby bump and looking up at the ceiling. As each day goes by you could tell that Jasmine was becoming more and more fond of the idea of having a baby. I'm actually excited to be an aunt but nervous for Jasmine at the same time. This is our last year at high school and I really want her to graduate. Hopefully, her pregnancy does not get in the way of it.
She's always been an ambitious girl. Jasmine believed in herself and was fully confident that she would be very successful in the future, having a job that she enjoys.
"I sure do hope so." I sighed.
"Yeah, he'll come around."
"But does he even have the right to be mad though? It's not like we were together. Plus Dante is just a friend."
Jasmine stopped rubbing her tummy and got up from the chair.
"Well, boys can get jealous. Especially when they really like the girl. Also, we don't even know Dante. We never met him so we don't know his intentions." Jasmine said as she sat next to me on the bed.
My phone then buzzed. By the sound of my phone, my breath hitched. I wonder if it was Jason. I rolled over on my bed towards the nightstand and grabbed my phone.
'Still up for later?'
It was a text from Dante. I squeezed my eyes shut in frustration. Should I cancel last minute? I already told him that we could hang out today. What kinda of person would I be if I just told him 'no' right after telling him 'yes'?
A not so good one.
I can't just back out now.
'Hey, you there?' My phone buzzed again.
Impatient much?
I looked over at Jasmine for help.
"Jas, Dante just asked if we're still on. What should I dooooo?" I whined.
Jasmine chuckled at my behavior.
"Well Naomi, weigh your pros and cons. If you go out with him, Jason would be even more livid than he is now. If you cancel, you run the risk of losing Dante as a potential friend, however, Jason should be happy and will forgive you. You decide pumpkin."
"Urghhh" I groaned.
The slam of a door was then heard. I bolted up.
Jasmine looked at me with a raised brow.
